I need another 2210, but a bit larger.

A couple years ago, I got rid of one of my JD332s and replaced it with a 2210. I'm loving this 2210 so much that now I want to get rid of the other 332 and get another, more capable machine. The 2210 is fantastic, but I'm thinking maybe one step larger than the 2210.

My biggest complaint of the 2210nis the 3 PT hitch doesn't have a control that sets the height. It only has a control that goes up or down. So you end up futzing with the height by jogging it up or down.

Can somebody share the lineage of JDs small machines of the same vintage as the 2210? I don't want to go newer because then they start getting into computer controls, regen cycles and other nauseating "features".

The 2320, 2520 and 2720 would be good choices.

The 2210 is the early subcompact, right? As long as you stay at the 25 horsepower level you'll avoid computers. Your direct equivalent would be the 1023E/1025R, which are great little machines, but then there is the 2025R, which is the 1025R on meth and various steroids. From there you've got the 3025E and 3025D, two similar but very different machines. They're considerably larger than what you're running right now.

Then of course there are... *other* brands, if you're interested.

Other brands? I'm not necessarily religiously tied to JD, but for the sake of commonality with attachments, etc, I'll be staying with JD. And they do make good machines.

Anyway, a good friend just bought a new 1025R. I checked it out and found that JD has upgraded the 3 pt so it follows the lever position rather than the UP/DOWN control my 2210 has. We will see what happens. When bonus money happens to come along from work, that makes it easier to make moves like this.
