Bob - I would like to buy now cause I'm sure your right in getting a good deal now, but I have no storage space inside, nor will the homeowners association allow :( outside storage of "constuction" equipement (that includes lawn tractors), so I need to wait until move in early july. thanks for the info.

I guess I could wait until early fall to buy and get a deal then, but doing 2.4 acres with a 22" walk behind would cut into hog riding:) time.

Bob,

I would be more than happy to store your tractor for. I'm sure that you would want to me to keep it in good running order while you are storing it.... :)

OK, I read all yours and others posts and here is what I would do. I have owned both a CUT (B7800) and a now own a SCUT Ford (1210). I am amazed at how much I can do with my SCUT. The biggest dif. is traction and ground clearance. The scut sits lower, which you want for a steep slop. As far as mowing, I would take a SCUT over a CUT any day. My CUT had R4s and it handled dirt work better. If your going to do minor dirt work get the SCUT with r4s. If your going to do a lot of dirt work on a regular basis, get the CUT with R4s.

I firmly believe that Kubota is a better tractor than MF and would also hold it's resale much better. Guys who by the Kubota can sell them later for nearly what they paid for them. The Kubota BX24 frame is made to handle a BH and I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone that would slam a bota. Before I would by the BH I would do what one fella suggested and see if you can make the FEL work. It will amaze you what you can do with the FEL. Your money... but my 2 cents. 5K for a backhoe that will sit most of the time is a lot of $$.

If you will be mowing 90% of the time... buy the SCUT (Kubota)... they have better quality cut and will still do everything elso you mentioned.

Srossman,

You can't fool me:) . I think you want to do what the cowboys do, ride astride two tractors whipping the throttles:D chasing that high grass. I do appreciate the offer, but I'll have to decline:)

RickO - you get me furious to think about needs and wants (Cat D10, Link-Belt excavator, road grader etc, and a plot of land large enough to play on:D .) I am leaning towards the orange SCUT since the two dealers in my area are close, willing to spend time with a future buyer and the dirt work though not minimal by my standards does pale in comparison to others. thanks

Bob

sigh - time to get back to work:(
