I NEED snow!

we have had 2 measly excuses for snow. each less than and inch and gone within 12 hours. I for one am not complaining too much. I am on call to plow and this weather has allowed me to get a whole lot more accomplished in the garage on my IH cub than I imagined I would. Heck the ground isn't even froze yet and its almost the middle of January. I for one am holding my breathe. mother nature has a funny way of playing tricks on us mortals.

I've only been to Chaumont in the summer (Crescent YC). I'm surprised to hear you don't get much snow - I guess it's because you're just far enough around the end of the lake, up the east end, to avoid the lake-effect snows that Oswego gets.

We seem to be in just the right spot for not getting hit. The moisture is picked up over the lake but is deposited in other areas. Usually south/southwest of us. Temps have been above average recently also.
I've been out of snowmobiling and skiing for several years now. Snow is just an inconvenience to me anymore.
As far as seat time, I'm 49 years old. I don't have a big desire to get out and play with the tractor all that much. I have my uses or else I wouldn't have bought it. But I don't need to manufacture excuses to get out on it. I've got no problem owning a nice low hour (92 hours in 3 years) tractor.

Heh, I'm 2 months short of 51, but having just gotten a tractor this past fall, I've still got the bug.

What the heck is going on this winter? I want more snow - must run that blower!

I suppose if I had a new Kioti and snowblower, I'd be itching to get in the snow. But this is really bonus weather to catch up on machinery maintenance without even using the new Mr Heater 75,000 BTU kerosene that I just bought. And with the ground not frozen, there's a lot of outdoor stuff you can get done....like one other poster....setting fence posts. Or just go polish that Kioti again.

The pacific northwest is sitting in a high pressure ridge for about 3 weeks... all the storms are being pushed up north to Alaska......


Im sure glad we didnt get the 18 FEET of snow that they have received over the last week that would just suck

I used to own an old bullet proof Bolens 18hp Kohler with front end loader. This one no loader but 4' snow blower. This one is a 14 hp diesel 4wheel drive and now no snow, boo hoo!!

I could sure use some snow here in oklahoma, this red tractor needs to pay for its self, can't get paid for clearing parking lot's if there's no snow. Plus the winter wheat fields could use a good snow covering also.

Last year at this time we had over 140cm about 5' that had fallen, by the time winter was over we had almost 9' of snow overall. Sure a lot different this year.:tractor:

IMHO it's still early, there is plenty of winter left. Maybe if I buy a rear finish mower that would make it snow.

I know some guys who bought new snowmobiles around here, so I'm thinking we'll be snow free for a while also! :laughing:
