I shudder to think. . .

OMG!!! It happened again to me yesterday. I was operating my backhoe and thought something felt strange as I reached for the outrigger levers with my left hand. I looked down to see my wedding ring was missing. My heart skipped a beat and then I looked at the platform right under the levers. There is was.:cool2: I thought about putting it into my pocket, but I was almost done, so I put it back onto my finger and finished up. After I parked the tractor, I noticed some dirt clods on the steps. My wheels shed clods and the steps seem to catch everyone of them. I cleared off the clods and came into the house.About 2:30 this morning, nature called and I had to go to the bathroom. As I looked down, I suddenly realized my ring was missing. Holy cow! :bawling: How did I lose my ring without knowing it? So, this morning, I got up, had my coffee, and screwed up my nerve to tell my wife what a bonehead thing I'd done. Then, I remembered clearing the clods off the steps. I wasn't sure at all, but just to check, I walked out to the tractor. There on the ground about 2' from the steps was my shiny ring.:applause::dance1::cool2:

Note to self: You've been more than lucky. Take off ring and leave in the house when you go out tractoring. Stop by to pick up lottery ticket today.

Sounds like your diet is still working.. How much weight have you lost now?

Jinman, if you decide to try some gloves to corral that thing give Justin Ropers a try. They are hard to find at retail stores except maybe a western wear shop, but you can order them from Sam's Club for $20 for 2 pair. I love mine and always keep an extra pair stored 'cause they are thin and tear easy if you use them for rough work like logging. But they give you lots of fingertip feedback if fitted tight. My hands are pretty normal size, and I wear a medium for best fit. Better keep that ring safe or take it off or wifey might take something off too:D

I've lost about 65 lb. I think the ring slips because my fingers are cold, dry, and dusty. It's like I had talcum powder on them. Today, before going outside, I took the ring off and put it safely on the shelf. I also just got back from buying two Texas Lottery tickets. We'll see if my luck is used up yet.:D

PossumHound: Thanks for the tip on gloves. The best work gloves I own are from a retired railroad worker who rat-holed several pairs before retiring. They say Southern Pacific on them and are soft buckskin. They are almost too nice to work in. They sound very close to the Justin Ropers.

My Southern Pacific gloves look like these.
