I didn't think I did. How many had warranty repairs?

You didn't but some do.

One Kubota, one Kioti, one Massey Ferguson, two John Deeres, and one Case. The Kubota and Kioti had hydraulic leaks, Massey Ferguson, two fuel pumps, three point hitch, ongoing electrical issues, my brother is a mechanic so I left it out at his farm. The Case had three point hitch issues, bad AC, wouldn't start at times and it never got reliable, two blown doors etc., we traded it on our M8540 and got about what our new tires were worth; guy who owns and independent garage bought it from the dealer and he got rid of it.

Some luck huh, My Kioti has not had any thing go. Yet!?? If your hydraulic problems were loose hose connections your dealer is not doing his job.

Nope, just bad parts on Kubota and Kioti, but trouble free ever since and out of warranty now; fingers crossed.

Sorry for derailing the OPs thread.

The turbo including every piece I bought or made was $1,000 not including any time.

I bought a new Jetta TDI in 2011, it never had any issues except recalls, it was delivered as promised.

I bought this 2012 L3940 and the day I got it home the radio was cutting out.

The next week I hooked up the new snowblower (from the same place) and they failed to tighten the hoses they made for the chute. OIL EVERYWHERE.

1 month later I was using the FEL and the third function remote THEY INSTALLED blew a plug that was never tightened by them.

When the weather got cold it wouldn't start, keep in mind this machine sat on their lot all Winter. Now THEIR pre-delivery report states the glow plug system was checked. Maybe, JUST MAYBE the relay swapped itself out during the Summer?

This same dealer quoted me $5,900 for a dump trailer. Their sister store said they could beat the price......by 50 dollars.

The dealer 10 miles down the road sold me the same trailer for $4,800 dollars.

Now I don't want to make too much of an argument here but YOU figure it out!

Do you think I'm going to buy another piece of equipment from them? NO, that's right.....NO.

Just because the level of commitment in this country has gone to heck in handbasket that does not mean I don't expect what was promised. Attention to details might be lacking for some but not for all.

If 4shorts fabbed up a piece of metal with bubble gum welds all over it and took fancy pictures and posted them here what would you think of his work then? Would you say his attention to detail was good or bad? Would that be ok given the standards set forth by the est of the world?

Am I too fussy? I guess you have to figure that out for yourself.

Regards and not mad but I'll keep being fussy thank-you, Fred

I think you are right Fred,

and you didn't even mention the biggest problem you had- which was a very under powered tractor for its size , rated power AND cost...

That part would have made me mad every time i finally got it started in the cold weather and tried to use that( New) machine. you inform the dealer , then the dealer says it meets the rated power spec.
Guess that's why almost every high dollar item I buy is used - or i can't afford new - then its my problem good or bad , but i didn't pay a New price for the item.

That is where your frustration makes perfect sense to me. You had a right to expect better especially the PDI

Good Luck on testing out and purchasing a tractor that meets your needs- AND puts a smile on your face every time you get to use it.

I get your fussy factor, and wanting things right at time of delivery. Sometimes that happens, but it's clear your selling dealer doesn't verify their equipment before it goes out the door, tractor, snowblower, third function, radio, etc.
Those things don't make the tractor you bought a bogus brand or unit in particular, and if it's rated power, etc. didn't/ doesn't meet you expectations maybe you needed a bigger tractor at the get go. This is not meant as a criticism of you, your brand or size choice; instead it's meant as a summary of where you were vs. where you are now. I think it sux that you had so many things go wrong including a dealer who doesn't seem to value you as a customer, but is more than willing to take as much of your money as possible with no conscience. No wonder you won't buy from them, overpriced trailer or next tractor. Keep being fussy, I know I will too, it might just get us what we want once in a while, and might keep the slackers on their toes too, hopefully?!

Years ago I was a Ford fan, bought 12 NEW Fords in 10 years between wife and I. The 91 F-150 was a lemon, lots of small issues then the last straw was the paint on the roof peeling, keep in mind this truck was kept washed and parked inside. The warranty had just ended for like 1 month and I went to the dealer with my concern. The owner of the dealer denied any claim because (get this) I had never made any paint complaint on any of those surveys I filled out after other warranty repairs.

Fast forward 1 year and my sister in law buys a USED 88 Bronco with bad paint, well Ford payed for the paint job even though she was never a loyal Frod customer, I was wild.

You can guess how many Fords I have owned since then.

Not saying the Kubota is a bad tractor just not right for me, and yes I still hate it.

This is a great, entertaining thread... sort of like a Quentin Tarantino movie, it covers all kinds of little stories, lots of adventures. I have to agree with Fred- a whole list of screw ups is just not supposed to happen. I bought a used Kubota from a dealer with a good reputation, supposedly serviced, but found missing loader pin bolts (16 penny nails, bent, were being used instead, broken zerks, un-greased fittings... little crap, but annoying. Worst was a new snow plow, with a front pivot grease fitting that was un-accessible as installed from the manufacturer, and totally dry when I pulled it to change to a 90 degree zerk. At least the hydraulic hose fittings were properly tightened.
My wife had a 82' VW diesel Rabbit (yah, I know) before we meet... she had argued VW into repainting the car twice! because of crappy paint. I knew she had gumption. It was a long time before we bought another VW.

Finally found something my tractor could lift. Since we just got plumbing installed in our place we opted to ditch the two holer we used for so many dumps, whoops, YEARS! :beaver:

Moving it to the woods, gonna burn this baby down after a few beers some night.
