I Still Hate My Tractor II

IMO the speed is way too fast now. The controls are twitchy and not user friendly compared to other tractors I have and have used. Read between the lines if you will; the FEL is just plain uncomfortable because it IS too fast. Slowing it down would only improve the operation. I get to jimmy-jamming ramrodding every dirt pile I try to move with this crappy designed FEL control. Yeah I know I could slow down and be more careful but one must work to make FEL movements smooth. FEL works better after 2 beers. It would be like the difference comparing a Honda Civic to a BMW.

Couldn't you put some restrictors in the line to slow it down a notch?

I think that would make it worse, you already have a restricter valve right in your hand, the more you move it the faster it goes. The less you push-pull-right -left the slower it goes. You have complete control over it as it is.

It's like driving a standard BMW instead of a automatic Honda.
Not the way Fred meant it I'm sure but that is my take on it.

I think he said its too sensitive and moves too fast for his liking. Restricting the flow would make the rams move slower, I'd think. Anyhow.... ;)

You better check with Kubota if your adding two beers to the hydraulic fluid each time you use the tractor, aren't you worried that will void your warranty?:)

Only a communist tractor would not like beer.

Oh, I know, I know what he means. I understand what you're saying also.
This video shows I think the jerkiness Fred is talking about. But I was showing it at almost wide open throttle with an empty bucket to show how fast and without looking it will stop at level each time I wanted it to.
Notice at the videos end after dumping the bucket up high out of site when it came down it was level.

I was not feathering the fel control in this video as in normal use looking for level. (except at 30 -37 seconds I start off slow with ease even at WOT) But in no way would I want my Fel to be slower with a permanent line restrictor. At slower RPMs I don't want to sit there and watch the curl waiting to slowly dump, you want the speed, I think. Unless I'm sprinkling mulch on my wife's garden and you already have the ability to do it slow with your control.

If I did feather the control for this video it would look like I was coming up on level and didn't want to go too fast and past level. ( like the auto level didn't work well) The video was done at the fastest speed to show stopping at level.

It also shows, I think what Fred is talking about if your just going to go wide open pushing and pulling the fel if you know what I mean. Plus the tractors that Fred and I have Auto throttle so at idle or slow speed the bucket moves slower, much slower. A restrictor would just kill it. I never run my tractor at wot as shown in this video. Never had to.

I think Fred is a good guy, i think he just likes the attention of posting the way he does. He did a good job on that turbo, not many could do what he did.

Did I miss anywhere that he loaded the tires on his machine? That would help out alot with his traction issues if he is dragging around a 5klb load of dirt. If they are, Chains and some weight in the front bucket are the only things that are going to help unless he is willing to swap tires to r-1's. Enough of being helpful, I want fred to post a video though!

More importantly, people should be more concerned the Fred has and continues to fault a stellar brand tractor, ...

Maybe I missed too much of Fred's posts and rants but I've not thought less of his tractor brand because of them. Matter of fact, this thread us more entertainment to me than it is serious debate of any tractor brand.
