What advantages does a fixed (no angling) plow blade have over just using the FEL bucket?

Heres mine I went with 15 foot hoses to rear remotes for power angle, no snow yet but waiting:dance1:
Well funny you ask that, the pins that you see are temp pins I used just while building it, I now have full 1 inch grade 8 bolts no play at all. as far as the rod goes That is what I had but can't get it in the bucket and slide it through as it was too long, good idea though. thanks for the suggestion though.I like your set up. Simple and straightforward. Have you thought of replacing the two mount pins in the bucket in the bucket with a straight rod passing through the holes? It would make it a little more rigid taking out some of the diagonal play.

looks like I might get to test it out on thanksgiving day!!
I HOPE the advantage is that I can clear snow quicker with the front blade than with the bucket. The bucket is relatively small and I have a long driveway, so once the bucket fills up, snow runs out both sides. For light snow, the back blade is fine, but heavier snow tends to accumulate in front of the blade and get pushed into the rear tires, plus you get a sore neck looking behind you all the time. Looks like I'll be able to test the new setup tomorrow. We are supposed to be getting 6"-8" of snow. What is the advantage over using the bucket and or a back blade?
I had the same set up on my old international 2 wd worked great. What is the advantage over using the bucket and or a back blade?
