I bought a 7.5' Myers plow that I want to modify to attach to the bucket of my Kubota L3400. Right now, it just looks like a bunch of rusty steel. Of course I ran out of gas for my torch this morning. May have to buy a bigger set of tanks.

This could be interesting....
Looks like you have the ear/ears in which plow frame pins to,least 1'4" steel,figure spacing for frame to rise and lower from bucket,weld ears to steel,you may want some sort brace from bucket to help from stress front of bucket so you don't damage bucket from stress.
You may want to add least 1/4" steel back side of bucket for strength if you should blot or weld frame ears.
Keep in mind if you use frame,frame and plow will have long reach..rear end tractor becomes lighter.
Just quick idea..keep your up dates coming.

You should mention to your bride to tell Santa you been good this year and like plasma cutter.

I just did the same thing. Took an old Diamond 7.5' plow and welded the A frame to a QA plate. It never fails that one of your torch tanks will always run out on a weekend. Mine do the same thing. So does our propane tank used for the gas stove. If you don't have a QA loader bucket I have seen others on here that weld brackets in the bucket to attach the A frame to the use a chain on top of the bucket to the plow for lifting.

That's like the setup I mentioned. Are you planning to run hyd. lines and cyls., manually turn the blade or leave it straight.

The plow I bought did not have the angle cylinders, in fact, I cut the brackets off and am going to use them for attaching the plow to the bucket. They look to be more substantial than the ones in the picture I posted. So it will be manual angle only.

I think that you will find that with the plow mounted in the bucket that being so far ahead of the wheels that a full load of snow will skid your tractor sideways. There will also be a tendency to raise or make the front lighter as the snow load increases since the loader arm pivot point is fairly high.

You may be right. Others have used similar setups and are happy. I'm sure a lot will depend on how much snow I try to push. I will still have the bucket as a fallback.

Well, I think I made it work! I wish it were warmer so that I could clean it up and paint it, but I guess that will have to wait until next year. I decided to go with 2 chains to the existing bolt-on-hooks (from Ken), I was worried that the bucket may not be strong enough to hold up to the stress if I used one chain to the center. All I need now is some snow to test it out. I'll report back once I have a chance to try it out. Thanks to all of your advice!

Sorry, can't master the picture attachment process. Anyway, I have a Snowsport manual plow that fits on to a 2" hitch that is attached to the front of my truck. I purchased a 2" clamp-on hitch that is now on the front loader of my Yanmar YM2210d. Hope to move a bunch of snow this year. Plan #2 is a 44" snow blower on my JD X500. Let it snow. [/ATTACH]
