Mongobird is correct. On old loaders the cylinders were installed with the barrel on the bottom and the rod going up to the loader. When lowing the loader the water runs down the rod and gets sucked in past the rod seal. Now look at the newer loaders. The cylinder barrel is on the loader and the rod goes down to the loader frame, so the water runs down away from the rod seal.My working theory is that water makes it into the system through the loader pistons, because the symptoms always increase after loader usage in snow or wet conditions. So I am looking for a more permanent solution, and a installed heater might be the best approach.
