Ice in hydraulics

My working theory is that water makes it into the system through the loader pistons, because the symptoms always increase after loader usage in snow or wet conditions. So I am looking for a more permanent solution, and a installed heater might be the best approach.
Mongobird is correct. On old loaders the cylinders were installed with the barrel on the bottom and the rod going up to the loader. When lowing the loader the water runs down the rod and gets sucked in past the rod seal. Now look at the newer loaders. The cylinder barrel is on the loader and the rod goes down to the loader frame, so the water runs down away from the rod seal.

It depends on the loader. Dads Massey Ferguson Industrial 35 had the rod down, but our Kubota B7500 has the rod up...

Well if someone find a way to fix this with the old loaders I need to know. If you have to change the oil every two weeks because of water in it that gets to run into a lot of money anymore..

Have any of you seen condensation on the inside of a water proof watch crystal.

Condensation is the answer. Over time, the volume will increase if you do not run the tractor fluids hot enough to expel the moisture.

And yes, worn cyl wiper seals with a good vacuum could suck in moisture.

I agree condensation.

as for the wipes. that's the users fault if they run them while worn.. too easy to repalce to run them like that.
