Great looking workmanship! I stumbled upon the same basic solution...just not nearly as sexy. I had a couple PVC pipe compression plugs left over from house construction. The sizes I had on hand just happened to fit the tube between the loader arms (now chain storage tube) and the larger tubes low on the frame mount (pipe wrench and hammer storage). Mine requires a wing nut to be loosened/tightened but, hey, you do what you can with what you got! Wanna trade?

Hey Dave that was a great idea you had there as well and I agree, you do it with what you have to work with.

Since I did mine everyone said "how come you didn't make them for the other smaller tubes on the FEL"? Well they were a little more complicated to do considering the inside of the tube wasn't capped on the inside and I couldn't get back there due to not having enough room to do it but then I decided
I would make a cap with an O ring and push it through which I did and machined two more outside caps for those tubes. These tubes were smaller that the front ones as well by about 1/4 inch dia.

I'll have a place to store a few tools now and maybe a First Aid kit. Here's a few more pics to bore you with:D. Thanks for posting. Paul

I like the "No Step" sticker Kubota put on your rig. Now you need a couple of "RESCUE" arrow stickers like they have on fighter planes.

It's funny you mention that. I have two sons and both of them are members of the Canadian Armed Forces. I wanted to take something and restore for them that they could have for the rest of there life. One son is Army while the other is Navy. The attached pictures is the items that I did for them. The idea of each vehicle is to add each time the boys go on tour or get a promotion to the vehicle and by the time they retire, the vehicles will be like a "Time Line" in there life.

When you mentioned the "No Step" I thought of the restorations I did. Oh by the way. These are both full size kids pedal cars. They were in rough shape when I got them but are nice now. The Jeep is from 1954 while the boat is 1966. I built the trailer for the boat as well. hope you like them.

Sorry it's not tractor related, I just found it neat when you mentioned the "No Step" :D

Someone else had the same thought. My new Mahindra 5525 has the ML250 FEL built by Buhler and distributed by BII Fargo, Inc. They use that tube to store the two legs used to support the FEL when its detached from the tractor.

You can see one of the end caps on the tube and one of the brackets on the far FEL arm for a support leg.

Same with my Woods 1009

Thanks Bill. Glad you like the stuff. The old lathe is tagged as an Elliott but it's really manufactured by Sofia which happens to be in Bulgaria. It was made back in 1979 and I've owned it since 1996. It's been a great lathe for me. It's done a lot of work. Never cost me any down time. It's a 13 inch swing gear head lathe. It has a 37 inch bed. the chuck I'm using in the above pictures is just a common three jaw but with the inside jaws attached. I have a four jaw independent chuck for it as well along with some custom holding gear.

The lathe will cut just about any thread it needs to cut. Has it's own cooling system as well and weighs about 3000 lbs. I also have a mill/drill machine as well. I'm not a machinist as such but really enjoy using the lathe and it's ben great for me in my business. Thanks. Paul
