Rent a dozer to drag it out and let it be a life lesson to you.

I about had to do the same to a 570 Landscape loader stuck in the middle of the woods. I would of have to rented a dozer and drag it out but luckily a co-worker that has alot of experience with getting tractors unstuck got it out with the help of a Kubota L35

During WWII, on the land next to mine, the Army got a tank stuck in the mud. They brought in another tank to pull it out and got it stuck also. Being the army, they gave up and left them there. Maybe ten years ago the owner of the land found them still sitting. One had a huge tree growing through it the other was salvagable. It took some clearing and two backhoes, but they got it out. Nobody knows what happend to it since they sold out and disapeared. Rumor is the other tank is still sitting there.

Theres also a half track on another piece of land not too far from me. The previous owner showed it to a friend before he passed away. The new owner doesn't know about it and isn't real friendly, so nobody's told him it's there.

Is it too late for a freeze in your part of the country? Maybe it freezes overnight, you might get up early and have something solid to work with. It's the only way to get equipment around up north.

Good Luck,
Eddie

Larry, one of my brothers told me about a dozer getting deeply mired on the tundra when the Alaskan Pipeline was being built. He said they couldn't drive it out, and even with a strong enough cable to another huge dozer on solid ground, couldn't pull it out. So the company's "powder monkey" attached dynamite to the top of each track (I don't remember how much), then the dozer operator slowly turned the tracks until the dynamite was centered at the bottom, under each track. The operator had the engine running ready to take off wide open, the other dozer started straining at the cable, and when the powder monkey detonated the dynamite, that popped the stuck dozer up enough it broke loose from the suction, and away they went.

Now if they actually did that, the dozer operator would sure have to have a lot of confidence in that powder monkey's expertise. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Bird, I'd love to WATCH that done...but Larry ...please do not try it...we want to here back from you! I still say rent a dozer or just hire a local excavator company to come and help for an hour....you'll just have to put up with their laughs and abuse while they help. At least your dozer will be on dry land again and you'l be back in business....safely. Good luck my friend.

Yes, the laughing and ribbing is a hazing of sorts.

During costruction of my house, I high-centered a large construction snorkel-lift on some uneven ground where the excavator had dug the sewer line. The snorkel-lift was about 12000 lbs but had a very broad, flat, low belly - very easy to get two diagonal wheels off the ground even with nothing stuck under the middle, so when it high-centered, it had no traction whatsoever on three of the wheels .

The guy I have used to do a lot of my excavation was on-site at the time, so I asked him if he could bring something to help pull it back off the mound it was stuck on. He teased me quite a bit about my snorkel-driving skills but promised he would send somebody over later in the afternoon on their way back to the shop with a track-hoe or track-loader.

I was able to get it un-stuck with my little JD 4100 and a 20,000 lb tow-strap. The tiny JD weighs about 3500 lbs fully ballasted.

When I called the guy to tell him not to worry about pulling me out anymore, the teasing stopped - he was quite impressed that my "lawn tractor" had done something useful.

A dump truck got stuck in the mud with a full load of gravel. It weighed a little more then 80,000 pounds and was stuck up to the hubs on its 3 rear axles. My buddy and I have the same truck ( 2003 Dodge Cummins High Ouptut diesel 4wd, 4.10 gears) He was on gravel and pulled the truck out with two chains in 4wd low. You should be able to get that dozer unstuck. If you were closer we would have had you out by now /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Worst case senario you can always get one of those freight choppers to pull you up and out of the mud. Expensive but works.
