As if the No Vent gas cans weren't bad enough now they ONLY sell (Walmart, Home Depot that I have seen so far) one with a spout that is spring loaded shut!
To get the gas out you have to turn a green collar and hold it to unlock it, then push the spout on the item you are filling. If you release pressure on the spout it locks and shuts off!!!

I bought 3 for $130 and they will last a LONG time.

But you have to get them on sale.

I bought a few for diesel and was unable to figure out how to get anything at all to flow out them. They had an item that you rotate on the filler neck, but regardless of what I did, I could not get a drop to come out. So I took off the stupid filler neck and use a big funnel.

The net outcome of this kind of BS is that there will be MORE fuel spills, not less. This crap has long passed the point of benefiting anyone. The only one who benefits now is the guy who patented the (non working) stupid filler neck!

I forgot to add: Have you seen what happens to these EPA mandated fuel containers in winter. Yes, because of how they are sealed up they end up crumpled up by outside pressure as the vapor pressure inside them drops as the outside temperature drops. The one I use for the lawnmower is quite useless after this last winter. If it had split open, it would have been perfect, the EPA saving the world one stupid idea at a time...

My gas is in round plastic 5 gal jugs - the vent is on top; opposite the spout and this arrangement has none of the current c--p or safety features. I'M DOOMED!! Likewise, I don't have to be a contortionist to get gas out of these jugs.

Those cans are garbage! I bought one and broke it trying to get fuel out. POS! It amazes me that everyone is carrying them.

I did not understand why guys were paying 10.00 for the old plastic 5gallon containers with the yellow spout. At auctions they used to be two for five dollars all day long- five dollars a piece if they had some gas. Now 20 dollars for something new that does not work.
