I agree with most of the suggestions that you were given: For my new 18' trailer I order the following extras:
cross members on 16" centers +$43
Spare tire and mount +$143
2 extra stack pockets in front +$12
LED lights
tongue jack already far enough back to clear truck tailgate
Slide in 5' ramps, a little heavy but not that bad.
brakes on both axles +$150
AZ offers an OPTIONAL small motorcycle sized license plate. Fits trailers a lot better. Don't know about your state, but in AZ if you don't request it you won't get it.
Good luck with your trailer

All great ideas and thanks for the pics! Already making a list of add ons to make it perfect.
What about tires? Are you using what comes on the trailer or putting better trailer service tires on them?
What is the difference in a 5k and 7K axle on trailering long distances (app 250 miles) for a 7-8 K # load?

:confused2:

The problem I have with a bottle jack is that I couldn't find a bottle jack with enough throw to reach my trailer, never mind lift it up. So now, in addition to a bottle jack, I have to carry a cinderblock to put the jack on. Bottle jacks are heavy. Cinderblocks are even heavier. It's just my preference, but I'd rather just drive up on the ramp than fiddle with a jack when changing a spare.
I could carry some pieces of 6x6 rather than a cinderblock. Much less chance that a 6x6 will crumble with me under the trailer.
