I have a bunch of users on my ignore list. Post about politics in a thread that's not about politics? Ignored. Say ignorant stuff about California? Ignored. Say something mean? Ignored. There's no reason I need to read any of that.
Sometimes I read posts from ignored users if the context seems to indicate they made a comment that's not in one of those categories. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong.
It'd be nice if there was a more nuanced way to curate what you read here. Ignore is a blunt instrument.
There are a few posters who I tend to skip right over, but generally believe that everyone has the right to say what they think
I thought about putting someone on ignore once, but decided not to. A short time later he posted something timely and on point; which made me glad I didn't.
The only person I've had on ignore was DodgeMan, a couple of times. I didn't even know I had done it, somehow I hit the wrong sequence of buttons. He's one of the last people here I would want to block.
I do have some self awareness...You have no idea just how much of a chuckle I got from this, thank you.![]()

For many folks it has nothing to do with hurt feelings. No one on this site could possibly hurt my feelings. I do however, value my time enough to skip over one poster in particular.None. It's the internet for Christ sakes. If you get your feelings hurt on a tractor site, you need some help.
Some I skip over but to much good info from posters to have done things I may ask about to worry about my feelings.
I just don't take things personally, unless you bring my family in on it in a bad way.
Curious, is one of them Roadhunter?
Sorry for the dumb question, but I don't know how it works. How do you read a post by someone that is ignored? Does the post still show up, but without any text or what?Sometimes I read posts from ignored users if the context seems to indicate they made a comment that's not in one of those categories. I also have just one, and I'm pretty sure it's the same guy as yours.1 but only because I don't like having to scroll past huge cut and paste text over and over. Read it once (maybe) and then it stays out of my way.
