Thank you. I was curious. I am not concerned in regards to myself. I do have difficulty in attempting to understand why some individuals enter a discussion and after being offered a sound and documented rebuttal, they become agitated and threatened by their lack of knowledge and choose this option. I could understand, somewhat, if there were open exchanges involving verbal hostilities, threats; etc. BTW, this post is not directed, in any way, form or fashion toward any specific individuals. Conflicting views are normal and expected in discussions or debates. This conduct brings to mind a quote, "If you step in a Puddle, don't blame the Puddle". Thanks for listening.

i can't speak for others.. however what usually is a critera for entry into my ignore list is someone who tries to generate arguments, or only has nonsensical/wimsical/goofball comments not related tot he thread ( thus taking up bandwidth )... I'm sure other people use other criteria..

Here again the software filter will do it's job or simply not respond. so they are on the list either in your head or binary switch. the whole point to having the feature is Not feeding the trolls/bullies. the feature does work here but causes other problems. The ignore feature does not block PM or sending an email. you don't want to block all because on a few. so using restraint as an ignore is the more logical route.

Actually, the ignore feathure does prevent you from seeing PM from an ignored user.

just as a quick test I went to my pm directory.. picked a user that had sent me pm.. added him/her to my ignore list... when I went back to my pm directory.. that users pm's no longer showed up. to read them I had to first go back to ignore user, via button, then remove them, then I could go back and see the pm's

again.. if you access this site from a mobile tablet like the ipad with a different user interface.. that may not be the case.

no, on a pc-ish tablet.

but that was my point.. if YOU are doing it from an ipad.. you may be seeing something different than i am seeing.

I'll check from my wifes Iphone.. but THINK it works the same as my pc tablet.. I did not use a mobile intrface..e tc.

if I Ran if from Safari which is apples version of Explorer it looks different than the app. the app doesn't include all the feature that are actually available. that is, if they are there, they are hidden.

One thing you can do however timely to acheive is use the contacts as a filter for private emails. If they are not in the contact list, their message won't go thru if you have all else blocked except contacts.. They may even get a message they are blocked.
