IH Hyd. with draft control

Can anyone HELP ME. My IH backhoe hyd.started slowing down and then just about quit completely. I took the pump apart and it had some broken plastic(?) pieces in . I got a new pump.put it on with all new fluid. IT woprks real hard to lift the hoe or front bucket like the old one before it quit. I don't want to ruin the new pump. I found out the hyd. works through the draft control which I know nothing about. I'm not sure that is where the problem is or is it in the valve body control. Is there an adjustment in either of these. The only info I have available at this time is on micro fish machine and its not very clear. Thanks for any help MartinC
