This is a great thread, reminds me of Bfreaky's thread on his backhoe builds, some of you guys have amazing skills. I feel lucky to do oil changes and brakes.

You can do brakes?

I remember when I was kid I was afraid of doing disk brakes I thought it was going to be harder.:drink:

I actually drove a real one and the front wheels steer just fine with the duel wheels.

That's interesting. I've never been in one.

Thanks , these two new progress photos show the radiator , the engine and the exhaust system now cut out, drilled hand bent and welded together. It looks pretty rough to look at with all the burn marks at this stage. But once it is all sanded and filled in the rough spots it will look much nicer. Tomorrow I will get going on the dash , the seat , the two side consoles and the three foot pedals. The engine kinda resembles the V-16 Detroit Diesel that were in many of the real trucks. I am still enjoying heading to the shop everyday puttering after 7 years of not building models.

That is really amazing. What next...a miniature small block Chevy V8 that really runs?

Todays progress shows the cab interior completed and the start of the dump box frame and some rear lights. Today my wife activated a Twitter account for me and I posted a few photos on it. I will start adding regular progress photos there. Thanks again for the kind words and thanks for letting me share my projects here.

Making more progress on the old Haul Truck. The dump box now has 51 pieces of steel cut out and welded together to get it this far. Not too many more pieces to go.
