Illegal to buy gas?

Mine fills her car up; but gets paranoid when the gas gauge gets to the 1/2 mark. I run my vehicles till the low fuel light comes on, then I fill them up. One way or another, the oil companies will get your money. I just prefer to make the time between stops as long as possible.

Now if I could train mine to take out the trash, clean up her shop...err...kitchen, and take her car to the blasted emissions testing station when its due for state mandated highway robbery.

My wife is one of those who will tell me the car needs gas if the gauge gets down close to the half tank mark. And if I don't do anything about it, she'll then fill it up herself the next time she's out. Even if we're on a trip together, with me driving, she'll say, "You're about to run out of gas" if the gauge gets down to the halfway mark. I think she worries unnecessarily about the fuel level.

I often let my truck nudge the Big E - mainly because I'm in the truck to go somewhere and do something and I absolutely hate the interruption and delay of stopping for gas. So I do it as seldom as possible. Yeah, I know, running out would be an even bigger interruption/delay. But that's trying to apply logic in an emotional situation.

My wife, on the other hand, starts looking for a gas station (sometimes, it seems to me like) when the needle moves off the F. And she's near apoplexy if it gets down to 1/4. Logic don't work there either.

Sorry could not help with the pun. I don't think there is any doubt that marriage ages a man. I have the $10 to $20 wife. Who leave all her trash on the floor of her car now. Granted, she is the only one ever in it, so it does not really matter. She NEVER used to be that way. She is the only child of a LTC Retired who is one that NEVER lets his tank get under 1/2 unless he is making the drive from his place to ours. It's about 265 miles, but then he always tops off in town before venturing the rest of the way to the house. Me otoh... drive to about empty... fill it clear up and drive to about empty again. I love my little computer that tells me the distance to empty. I always know how long I have. Much better than those lights. I have and ex that always waited for the light.. we drove around in her car all weekend and I kept telling her to fill up. She kept saying I am OK, the light is not on. She ran out of gas 2 blocks from the station right in front of Village Inn on Sunday morning. I was a jerk and gave her the real told you so and made her walk to the station to buy the gas can and gas. I ran my old 70 Monte Carlo out of gas one time on my way back to town to get gas... I was able to coast all the way to the station... only to find all the pumps full. The first guy to pull out chuckled and was kind enough to help push my car on in. Wow... guess I had a lot to say about this subject.. . sorry ya'll.

Does anyone else experience this? We have trucks, tractors, gators, etc. I like to keep the tanks full, the tractors are always fueled and ready ... EXCEPT my wife's 03' 1500 Ram, I swear she thinks its illegal for her to buy Gas!

Everytime we decide to use it, which is very seldom, its an 03' with 22K miles, its near EMPTY!! When I ask her why she fails to stop and put gas in she gives me that puppy dog look and simply replies ... "I forgot Honey" or "I was in a hurry to get back in to help you"

Its it law that its illegal for a woman to purchase Gas?

Always carry a 5 gallon gas can in the back. Next time you need the truck...go ahead and use it. IF it runs totally out of gas...hand her the can and $20 and tell her to go and get 5 gallons and bring it back!....

Yesterday, I am in my shop, she walks up there tells me she needs somthing at the store and throws out that good one .. "do you need anything honey?" Then she hops right up there in my one ton dually, an 04' with 72K miles and off she goes!!!

hey been married myself for 44 years, when my wife statred to drive (after we married) she came home one day and said one of her redlights was out, me being funny told her thats ok, next time you put gas in the car tell the guy to give you RED gas and danged if she didn;t) boy did i catch it,

It seems to be a woman-law. My wife won't put fuel in her truck unless it is below 1/4 and yes we often want to go somewhere with it and it's at 1/8 or less. I have told her many times why you want fuel in the tank instead of humid air, etc. etc. I would like to tell her that SHE is paying for any fuel pump or injector problems, but ultimately it's all OUR money so it wouldn't mean anything. It is a frustration though.

if your wife is one of them that constantly run around on E, and you don't drive the vehicle, dont do anything.

I'd let my OL sit on the side of the road if she did something that dumb. tell her to wait for AAA to come and put fuel in the vehicle.

if you have to share a vehicle with someone who cant put fuel in a vehicle, what you do is only add the bare minimum if you drive it.

if I know the truck get 15 mpg and I'm going 10 miles, I would put one gallon in it.

While I agree in theory, I wouldn't want her sitting on the side of the road any longer than necessary, if at all. Despite having AAA. I'd go get her.
