I'm puzzled

They will need a rollback and jacks to steal it, it has a very theft proof starting routine that involves an air chuck and set of jumper cables ;)

All I have to say to this is.

A house is a bigger investment than a tractor and no one puts their house under cover. People just let their house sit outside in all weather extremes.

I try to put my vehicles under some sort of cover when possible. But it just iron and plastic. The function is the same with faded paint as it is with perfect paint. And most people buy their tractor to work it.

Wouldn't siding and shingles with gutter be tech cover? One can argue all those are a skin to protect the house from elements. The actual house being plywood ext. One could also argue paint is the same thing for a tractor, besides the tires that get weather checking.

I don't think it really hurts tractors to sit outside, but if you sit them outside there's a lot more maintenance to keep them going strong. I keep all my stuff inside (except daily drivers) to protect my investment and so I don't have to paint the dang thing every few years, little to no moisture issues when sitting in a barn so I can get away with not having to run it as often when I'm not using it.

I'm sure there's a cost benefit to having for example a tractor under cover vs not for let's say 10 years.

Seems interesting folks concerned about their possessions being under shelter. Keep your tractor, car, toys under cover because their expensive and you want them protected.

Then we make sure the dog has the right kind of food without too much grain and for sure plenty of water and shade and shelter in the winter. We go on vacation and make sure the horses have all the attention to make sure their food is the correct amount and food value, walked, watered, sheltered.

We worry about all this "stuff" and don't get the least bit concerned about ourselves. We can eat until we're obese, don't get proper health care, exercise or nutrition and it doesn't bother us in the least.

I guess that's why when we're dead and gone the "stuff" is then put up for sale! It was kept better then we were.

I could really go for the extra large like button on this one.

And the skin cancer rate is off the charts as people just love to lay out on the sun to be all tan colored and stuff.
