The big stuff I take to the local shop

========== ============
When you say shop what kind of shop are you talking about?
Auto dealer
Mechanic
Garage
Tractor Dealer
Welding
Machine

I have no Idea who would work on A power trac around here.
What type of shops should I be checking out?

Why what took you so long?
What's holding me up is No local dealer support.
It's strongly emphasized all over TBN the importance of good dealer support when buying any tractor.
I don't see where dealer support is any less important simply because the tractor happens to be a Power Trac.

Can anyone post a picture of your PowerTrac? Maybe one of both models I have heard discussed. I am from SC and I was orginally from Virginia. Independence, Va. was where I moved from to SC. Thanks

Then perhaps you should carefully read some of these replies -- Bob's already answered these points quite clearly...

1. Small engine shop for the motor
2. Either a hydraulics shop or tractor dealer for the hydraulics

That's basically all there is to a Power Trac. There is no transmission, clutch, transfer case, axles, mechanical PTO, mechanical steering, water pump, radiator, fan belt, etc. like you have on a "normal tractor"...

It's hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, hydraulic cylinders, and hydraulic controls -- with the pumps directly coupled to the engine....

Part of its "beauty" is that simplicity...

Thank you. An interesting piece of equipment. Sorta reminds me of a Cat loader and a bobcat mixed together in one. Looks like it would have a fairly decent size engine as well. What HP? Am I correct in assuming there is special equipment for that nice piece of machinery?

This one's a 25HP gas. They also have 18 and 22 HP gas, then 30, 45, and 60 HP diesels. Here's the assortment of attachments available to fit mine:

WOW! I could spend a small fortune for attachments like that. I would want one of each. A very nice system. Really reminds me of a Bobcat because most all the attachments operate from the front. Thanks for the links, I will check them out.

They have a lot in common with a skidsteer, but, being articulated, they operate more like a "payloader" or "wheel loader"...

They don't spin and tear up the lawn like a skidsteer will, and are almost as maneuverable.

The attachments, while using a proprietary Quick Attach system, are also less expensive than Bobcat attachments...
