Don I would say that your home made brush guard is as good as they get. Now if I just put your idea to good use on my New Holland hmmmmm.. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Jinman, your u-bolt idea was a real time saver, didn't have to take the bumper off and no welding. I cut metal to size with an angle grinder with a 4" metal cutting blade. From measuring to cutting to painting only took about 4 hours. Thanks. TXDon

Nice grill guard Don,

Yes, I have built a skid plate for my L4610, along with several other guards. Some built after I damaged something.
Bottom view attached. I didn't have anyway of bending a solid piece of metal up front, so I built it in strips & bolted it together. I was able to make a bend near the center, after cutting out the crankcase drain access hole. The remainder was straight.

This replaced the steps also, which I was forever bending. Also had to build heavier tie rod guards, fuel filter guard. Grill guard and a couple more.

Both examples of skid protection are impressive. Are you sure you 2 guys haven't worked for an armour car company? You could ride down a 2 inch Indiana oak tree with that and not get whacked silly. What's next...? Maybe a bolt on extension for the area between the back of the tractor and the brush hog. I've seen brush pop up between there and cause havoc.
