When I bought my 10 acres, it had brush and briars, and needed bush hogging. So I did the "logical" thing and bought a bush hog. After 2 mowings, it magically needed a finish mower from that time on. In hindsight, I should have hired someone to bush hog it, then bought myself a RFM.
Now I find myself using a bush hog as a finish mower. It works, but not nearly as well as an RFM.
Same here....10 acres that needed a bush hog. Now I just use the finish mower since it's 6' as opposed to the 5' bush hog and it does a better job. The only time I use the bush hog is when the finish mower is broken
