I worked in my Dad's service station from the time I was 16; long hours, dirty work, hot in the summer, cold in the winter, but at least we had a roof overhead on one side of the pump island.:laughing:

Not surprising from someone who 50 years after the fact is proud that he betrayed his liberal roommate's trust and poisoned him. I'm not sure how this aligns up with the high moral facade of protecting fetuses. Maybe it's not based on moral underpinnings at all, just the desire to control women.:shocked:

Make a couple of trips a day to those pumps, with a 20 minute delay, each time, and it can make the difference in getting home in time to pick the garden with daylight. Is that just an inconvenience, yes, but those that see it as NBD, really are not milage intensive regularly.

Let me guess, the person offended by my "foreign car" statement, drives a Toyota.

I have never driven a Toyota. I'd eat sxxx and die 1st!, I used to commute 35K per year. But after years of fighting traffic, I relaxed. If you get upset about this stuff, you will suffer, not the doofus in front of you. Btw, once in awhile, you are the guy in front of the line - are you the doofus then?

My friend was gassing and the driver at pump in front took $10.00 worth, went in to pay, used toilets shopped etc and came out to wash windows, empty ashtray etc etc.
Friend was getting a bit peeved so he did a light horn tap to attempt to get the guy to move on.
The guy calmly walked up and kicked my friends left front fender as a response. (new Chrysler 300)
Friend upped and popped him one in response. He now is facing an aggravated assault charge!
The $10. guy has subpena the tapes as evidence and is using his 'volunteer fireman status' to win court sympathy.
Fortunately the tape will work both ways and hopefully be in friends favor.

I am starting to see gas pump rage as a next thing, like cutting in line etc.

I run into this problem when I go in with the tractor on the trailer and want to fill up, but I understand that only the end pumps have diesel and the way the lot is arranged, it's easier to quickly pull into those pumps so they are almost always in use even when the center ones are empty. I just resign myself to waiting.

Lately I've been noticing a related problem at the local Lowes store. They have two loading lanes and keep some material like Quikcrete, OSB, concrete blocks, etc outside the building in front. A lot of people who are going to pick those things up just park in the pickup lane while they shop. Today I carried 12 bags of concrete 20 feet instead of being able to park next to the pile because of a truck that was parked there when I went in and still parked there when I left. That bugs me more than waiting in line for diesel.

Or you could go to a State of Ohio license bureau. The Jedi masters of rudeness. Last time I was there I read a sign on the wall that said "Please check your license after it is printed. There will be an $8.00 fee for correcting it. Even if it is our fault."

Life is too short to fixate on the occasional "idiot" at the gas pump. If that's all there is to complain about then life must be pretty good.

Also, I have a pet peeve about individuals who subscribe to the group mentality that somehow Prius owners are, just because of the model car they drive, inconsiderate or tree-huggers with better-than-thou attitudes or any other ridiculous stereotype perpetuated by people who for some reason take pleasure in slamming their fellow human beings. Good God, are you people in the third grade?

And "foreign" cars? News flash: Almost everything you own is foreign made. Geez... I thought the Internet would help make the world a smarter place. No sign of that in this thread.

This is a big pet peeve of mine, and cause me to wait 15 minutes today :mur:

You know, those gas stations with 16 pumps, and only 4 of them are diesel, and those 4 ALSO have gas at them.

I pull in today on my way back with the tractor and GN trailer. Now since the pumps are soo close to the building, there are only 2 that I can get at with the trailer on. Lo an behold sits a gasser truck, and a little ford focus. OF the 12 other freakin pumps, only 2 are being used :mur::mur:

I can understand if the place is packed and those were the only two pumps, but give me a break. People who have never owned a diesel, probably never give it a second though.

And to top it off, the gassers that are always hogging the diesel pumps, are the ones who always have to pay inside :mur: So just as you see them place the handle back and think you're all set, WRONG, another 5 minutes wasted....

You know what's funny? While you're sitting there waiting, fuming, etc, those people are probably thinking to themselves, "AH HA!!! I *FINALLY* got him back.. I FINALLY made the guy in the slow @#$@#$ tractor wait on ME instead! It's so nice to finally turn the tables on him. I've been stuck behind so many @#$@#$@ tractors on the road... Why can't those people do something else with those tractors that only go 8 miles an hour? they have no, none, nada, business on the public road." :laughing:
