Holy crap ... here's another one ... that weighs 906 kg (with no wheels) and there's even a heavier one (978 kg):

This may be it. 20T and 810 kg.

those really arent what I would call a splitter.

They aren't made for a 3pt surely!!!! If they are it would take a big tractor to move it.

Good evening everybody (or morning in the US),
Thanks for your feedback on my question. Bruce, that's indeed the one I bought. I wil get that splitter within a few weeks.
I hoped my B3200 could handle that splitter but if not, I have to look for a bigger tractor. Maybe an oldie.
If the splitter fits on 3PTH of the B3200, I will try to increase the pressure by shimming the relief valve.
Regards,
Harald

No, as the true force is when the load is directly on the rod end.

On tractors, and on other things hyd there is a mechanical force.

Look at your tractor and you will see the lift cyl are pushing the loader arms at an angle

If your cyl is pushing straight on, then the force would be a true force.

For instance, a 2 in cyl 1 in rod, and 2500 psi, the force would be about 7,854 lbs.

If the cyl is pushing the load at about 45 degrees, then the force would be about 5,554 lbs.

If it is strictly a cyl thing, a larger cyl will develop more force.

Tilting the load up will increase load capacity.

Smaller bucket = less static weight.

Are you mixing up lever arm ratio, and force angle? Force at an angle through linkage is a commons means to increase force, not reduce it as you state.
Maybe you are talking about length ratios. A picture or sketch would clarify.

Hello J.J,

I downloaded the PDF from Messicks but I don't see a page number. There are 2 loader valves: J28100 and J28101. Do you maybe know which loader valve belongs to the 3PTH?

bye,
Harald

In order to test the relief on the 3pt, you have to have to lift the lever to max, and hold it there to get a reading.

The hyd gage can be plugger anywhere in the series flow path and will register the pressure from the pump as you max out the 3pt.

Both relief are probably set the same unless your manual dictates otherwise. You could raise your total system relief to maybe 100 psi below the pumps max pressure.

If it is still under warranty, don't mess with it. Let the dealer check it for you.

Most tractors are made as basic tractors, and attachments are added on later.

The basic tractor relief is located at the 3pt area under the seat.

The 3pt relief is set to factory settings, and when the loader is added, they probably set the relief the same, and then the FEL relief becomes the master relief as it is the first relief in the series path.

The 3pt relief could be set lower and work just fine at a lower pressure. The loader will relieve at it's set pressure and the 3pt will relieve at it's set pressure.

So with the FEL valve lever in neutral, and you max out the 3pt, the pressure you read is the 3pt set pressure.

Consider this also. If the 3pt relief is set higher than the FEL relief, when you raise the 3pt to max, the FEL relief will activate giving you erroneous data, and also less work potential from the 3pt system.

Hi all,

I shimmed the relief valve (i.e. the relief valve on the first drawing) but unfortunately the wood splitter stays on the ground.
Does anybody know if there are maybe more than 1 relief valve? See e.g. the second picture. Is this loading valve also on my tractor? I cannot find that one.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
Best regards, Harald
