Input needed (What to Get) Looking at MX5200 / L4901

I have owned three tractors: John Deere 750/used, then Kubota B3300SU/new, currently Kubota 'Grand L' 3560/new.

If you can afford a 'Grand L', get one. You pay for the weight and every deluxe feature, all are worth the money if you spend a lot of hours operating.

Two things are missing: 1. horn 2. functional cup holder, shielded from brush.

I am really leaning that way. Barlows has a used one that has low hours but has a cab which I really don't need. I think I will just end up beating it up.

Do you know what the main advantages are from the MX series to the Grand L series? It looks like the fel controls are a nice upgrade from the mX offering.

It is time you learn to search the T-B-N archive.

LINK to L, M, MX thread:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-buying-pricing/255782-l-m-mx-series-can.html

The MX is sometimes described as a Kubota Utility 'L' in front, Kubota 'M' in rear, produced to hit a price point.

The MX is sometimes described as a simplified, de-accessorized Grand L, produced to hit a utility tractor price point.

The greatest single factor in the price difference is the HST+ transmission standard on the Grand L series, not available on the MX.

You can research further on Kubota's web site. The 'Grand L' section explains the (standard) deluxe features.

Quiet, nearly vibration free Grand L engine, shielded undercarriage and air-ride swivel seat rate with me.

Are you aware that agriculture and forestry equipment are sales tax exempt in Florida? Tractors and implements are ag equipment.

That is great news! That certainly makes it likely that I will stretch my budget that much more, thanks for the tip.

With my budget now stretched, I am now looking hard at the L4760. Looks like a really nice machine and Kubota is offering $1250 credit for a cash purchase. Getting prices tomorrow.

I recommend you purchase Kubota Tractor Acceptance Corporation (KTAC) insurance on your larger new tractor for about $450 per year.

Kubota narrowly defines warranty claims.

KTAC insurance pays readily, including transportation for repair, less $250 deductible.

Sounds like a wise investment. Thanks

After running numbers from Kubota's Build It option (MSRP) with the set-up I would like, I come up with the following:

Grand 60 Series
L4060 $36,973
L4760 $43,607

Is the extra HP worth it for clearing small trees and brush, running a front root grapple and the like? I certainly don't want to get a machine that is underpowered for what I need, but on the other hand do not want to pay for a lot more than I need...

Seems like a large price difference for 7hp.
