Install your own toothbar?

Yeah, I've been thinking; I think I'll remove the QA bucket, stand it up on end, & ease my drill press into place. Drill with one hand & spray lube with the other.

Or just get my dad to stand there & spray

You are making this much harder than it needs to be. Raise the bucket while mounted to the fel so you can get good leverage. While the TB is clamped to the bucket, drill through the mounting bracket hole or slot as a guide. You'll be done in no time. I drilled 5/8" holes this way with no pilot holes and no cutting oil with a Dewalt cordless and it was a cinch.

I tried finding tooth bars on Woods' site. Do you have a link?

About what did you pay?

The Markham bar is $370.## delivered to my door. I'm gonna pull the trigger on that one today, unless the Woods one is a better deal.

Here is a link to the e-bay site for Iowa farm equipment who I bought mine from. and I paid maybe 20 less than listed here.
IOWA FARM EQUIPMENT or you could give them a call and here is the link to their web site. IOWA FARM EQUIPMENT WEB SITE The teeth have Tisco Woods stamped into them and I have not seen them advertised as a woods brand tooth bar but thats what it says on the teeth.

Either your bucket has thinner gage or softer steel then mine, or your drills are a lot sharper...

Otherwise, good instructions...same way I did it, but I put jack stands under the bucket while it was raised. I didn't see any need to clamp the tooth bar, but mine is pretty snug on the bucket cutting edge.

Don't know about the variables but we both had John Deeres so whatever they make buckets with or thickness is what I had. It took me less than 15 minutes to mount this bar that included drilling the holes. The bit was an old 5/8" that had not seen much work so I guess it may have still been sharp.

I got 7 teeth and shanks off of ebay delivered for $165 for my 60" bucket. I picked up a 4"X3/4"X7' of steel for $7 at a local scrap yard (very impressed with that price). My friend welded it up for free (actually a few beers and some Taco Bell).

The 3/4" bar is actually a little too thick (way overkill) and I had to grind on the shank a bit to get them to fit on the cutting edge properly, but it's all the scrap yard had.

We didn't drill the holes on the side of the bucket we BURNT them with a torch (I about stroked out) and reinforced the hole with a couple of welded on washers. I then touched it up with a bit of paint and all is good and it's a very professional looking setup.
