I saw this on chanla 13 news call them an the said they were no showing this but i was watching it at the same time they would not tell me what college it was. But it can be don

Not surprising, although it may depend on how one drives. And, assuming that the car is a small, and reasonably aerodynamic vehicle.

The "Smart Diesel" is supposed to get about 71mpg, but of course, there are drivers that have gotten better efficiency under ideal conditions.

There are, of course, prototype cars that get much better fuel efficiency. The VW 1L concept car gets 100km per liter, or about 235 mpg.

The X-prize was supposed to encourage the development of marketable vehicles with greater than 100 MPG. There were several companies with submissions, and the prizes were awarded, but so far none have made it to market yet, as far as I know.

80-100mpg on a closed loop test track using the coast and accelerate mode of driving. Real world, no way. 50mph top speed .

The April/May issue of motherearth news has an article about a homebuilt car that gets a claimed 95 mpg. It is registered as a replica and therefore modeled after 1950s British roadster. Kubota motor,trans and other running gear from a toyota. Couldn't haul much but would make an interesting commuter.

Took the '75 BLAZER to Virginia.....had the bed /quarter panels securely installed over new bed bushings/pads. Installed the replacement doors and "arizona" tailgate. Now need minor body work and paint. Does a heck of a job pulling a 7,000 trailer of driveway stone. :thumbsup: Any body/paint guys near Lexington? :laughing:

Dodge used a 8 cyl Mitsubishi in 1/2 tons . Add a Turbo and it was ok..They got around 30-40 mpg but no pulling power.. A 6.5 is ok although a 6.2 with a banks turbo would be great. Take care of fuel and oil fliter changes and they last for years ..A friend put three trucks through one engine , trans (turbo400) about 250,000 miles. They would drop in easily to that chassis.
