Installing rear hydraulics on L3130?

What did you think of the installation? Was it difficult? Also what was the most difficult part of the installation you encountered? If you don't mind, what was the cost of the kit??? Thanks..

I have a L5030 cab, and getting the seat off and out of the cab was the hardest part for me. It was not difficult once the seat was out. On top of the pump is a cover (2 bolts) that has to be removed. If you have a cab the mounting bracket for the valve has to have spacers to bring it out about a half an inch. I put everyting pretty much together before installation. I put the rear outlet's together and had them mounted before installing the valve. I had the hoses attached to the valve when I attached the valve to the pump. After putting it in place I had all the bolts in but not tighened in case I had to adjust, when it was right I tighten everything up. You'll have to have a torque wrench for bolting the valve parts together and bolting to the pump valve mounting bracket. The instructions have torque specs for the hoses but I did not see a way to measure that. All in all it was not as bad as I expected, but if I had it to do all over again I would have ordered a second set. I don't need a second set right now but I could not image having to break it down again to add one when it would have been so easy with the initial installation. Cost for the base kit for me was $635 with shipping. Hope this helps.

Good luck with the installation. Glade you finally got all of your parts. Keep us up to date with photos.

An old farmer friend of mine once told me that the difficulty factor for any mechanical project was based on how many sheets of plywood it took to lay out all the parts needed for the job. It looks to me like you have a one sheet project.

I read the instructions all the way through, then looked at how everything fit. I decided to assemble as much as I could on the bench. I didn't remove the rear tire like some one suggested, I think the little inconvenience out weighed the extra work of removing the tire.

On my L3130 the lever for the #1 valve drags on the side of the slot. You might have to do a little judicious bending if you run into that problem.

Thanks tex, mine was dead center. My problem was I had a bad casting, or something got under the plate on the cylinder control center and ate the cast, look at the pic with the cover off. It's on now with two bolts and needs three. Dealer is ordering a new casting. For guys that haven't done this, these pic are under the seat where most of the work is done.

Up date, I just got my valve body to replace the stripped bolt holes. I told my dealer that I would change it at my next major service. Also a couple pics for justcountry, and welcome to TBN.
