Insurance

The way I remember it, my homeowner's insurance covers it for $50 per year extra, and my auto insurance covers me for liability if I road the tractor at no extra cost. Since I bundled homeowner's and auto insurance with the same company, I could remember something wrong about the distinction between the two.

I can't recall if it's through DLL, but it is tied in through my financing, and once the machine is paid off it's just a few bucks a month- or year- to keep it.

I have State Farm. The home policy covers a certain amount of equipment used to maintain the property. When my 5105 burned, it was part of that policy. Just talk to your agent with a rough value of what all of your equipment is worth. It doesn't cover anything off of my property though.

For my 5055E, I have a personal articles policy that is pretty reasonable. It also covers it off of the property, which I requested. It won't cover for commercial work, but if I'm brush hogging for my neighbor or helping them move something, it's covered.
Vermont Mutual covers my tractor as part of coverage.
It’s not for hire and only used on my personal property.
That said, the first agent at my former agency said no. I bitched and read him the policy line, but after some back and forth, I decided to reach out to Navigator Credit Union customer service for further clarification and assistance. He stuck his feet in the mud and wouldn’t budge.
Called my agent here in Maine and had no issues. She double checked with the underwriter and ‘yup’ it’s covered.
For tractor insurance, consider specialized agricultural insurance providers like Farmers Insurance, Nationwide, or American Family Insurance. Local insurance agents can also help you compare policies, while online marketplaces like Insure.com or QuoteWizard allow you to quickly compare quotes. Additionally, check out Farm Bureau Insurance, which specializes in agricultural coverage. Be sure to compare coverage options and rates before making a decision.

I asked my Farmers for a quote and no luck... My property isn't zoned AG so nothing did they offer plus like the others they are shedding much of their book of California business.
