Jinman,

That was it. Once again, I get to thank you as you've given me resolutions on several problems. Experience is a wonderful thing and thankfully, I have this forum to draw upon the experience of others.

My tractor is only a couple of years old, so the fuse panel was actually centrally located below the lever that allows me to adjust the steering wheel back and forth. Its a small panel held in place by two little pieces of velcro. The fuse in there is a 15 amp so I replaced it with a 15 amp.

Thanks to you I'll never miss that one again!

Terrific! I'm glad it was that easy. I'm also glad to know that NH has changed the location of the fuse panel and made it much easier to find and have access to. I do still recommend a self-resetting circuit breaker in that position. I found one at AutoZone on their electrical fuse display and it has worked perfectly on my tractor. I'm sure you could find a 15 amp CB and never worry about fuse #2 again.

jinman, hope you don't mind a quick question. I went to a local advanced auto parts store and asked for the self resetting circuit breaker and they don't carry it. They actually sent me to Radio Shack. It was right down the road so I stopped by on the way home. Nothing.

I've searching around the web. Please click on the following link and tell me if this is what you are talking about:

10 TO 40 AMP UNIVERSAL CIRCUIT BREAKERS, PLUG-IN STYLE

Thanks!

Paul, that's the one. It's at a better price than the one at Autozone too. I also know that NAPA carries them, but they are also more expensive. Just to be sure, you might check that you have enough room to put the CB into the fuse slot. The CB is 0.4" thick. I don't remember having any problem with mine. Notice also that the legs are scored so you can break off sections to make the CB shorter if needed. Thats the way almost all of these are made.

Excellent. I checked out the size and don't see any issue on the fit. Thanks for letting me know about the break offs - did not know that. The price is good, but the shipping will increase the cost by $8, so it will cost about $10.

What did you pay for the one at autozone? Not a big deal, but curious.

Now that I think of it the tractor would only not start when it was warm, never cold or first start of the day, reminds me of my 78 F - 350 pick up ,after I put the headders on it the starters don't last very long cause the headders roast the starter.
Did anyone elese have the start problem with the tractor cold ? or only when warm ?

Yes, that occurred with me as well. Never on first start, or when "cold", however, I do keep my tractor nicely nestled in a heated garage.

However, I have not had the problem again - a few raps on the starter seemed to have solved that.

You know, the other day, I was feeling so good about all the work that my tractor has done lately that I gave my tractor a bath and vacuumed it out (funny thing about having a cab, now I vacuum my tractor). Looking so good, hate to get it dirty again....only kidding!
