Hi all, I have a international 234 compact tractor with a Mitsubishi K3B 3 cyl diesel. had a external leak at the injection pump, replaced all 3 Orings which solved the problem, now the engine won't shut down and runs wide open. I removed the pump and cleaned it up, inspection shows no broken or stuck parts. I need info on how to time the 3 small gears that turn fuel off and attaches to the rock shaft. I own a shop manual but it does not cover that part. the # on the pump is #094500-2190, they call it a cambox pump. THE 2 PARTS I NEED TO TIME IS # 11 (rock shaft) & # 7 sleeve-plunger control

Two things. Not only the timing to set, you need to ensure the governor was not affected by the removal or install of the fuel pump. This would make the engine run in full throttle. I think item-11 you had pointed out could be the issue here.

The Yanmar fuel pumps are very much the same in that era. Likewise the Shibaura too.

There is a master fuel pump re-builder on TBN, @thepumpguysc

Also see section-3 of this service manual.

You could of posted this in the Mitsubishi section of TBN too. ;) Lots more owners with your K3B engine there who have rebuilt these things many times over.

thanks for the input. I did find the timing marks on the rock shaft and the (gears #7). I just assembled it and now waiting on the anaerobic- sealant I ordered. will reinstall monday and cross my fingers. everything seemed to look and go
together pretty well. I am got to keep the master pump builders Email. just in case and for future problems. also thanx on the heads up on the Mitsubishi section.

Keep us posted on the final outcome. With the mess of the hurricanes down there, machines are in great need. Even compact tractor PTO power generators.

I'm an hour away from the Generac factory up in WI. Literally, they are working OT to keep up with the demand. I've seen literal convoys of semi's heading south on I-43 and I-90 full of all kinds of Generac gensets. Even the big ones on trailers using diesel engines.

will do. I had to evacuate here for Milton. the hotel I stayed at the first floor flooded with a foot of water, luckily I was on the 3rd floor. my car,in the parking lot got 3" of water on the inside where the parking lot flooded and it hurled a 2x6x12" and put a huge dent in my fender and hood. another guy had a BMW on the north side of the parking lot, the water was above his roof. it was a total loss. got home, unpacked on the Thursday after Milton and fired the /generator up. we had to run it from Thursday to Tuesday. finding fuel was almost impossible. finally waited until 2am and got to a 24hr station, it had fuel, but the line was 1/4 mile long. fuel ports at the docks were flooded and had lost power so no tankers could be filled. I will give updates on the injection pump, Im going to install it monday

installed the pump this morning and hooked up the Tie rod inside the pump and noticed the rod will not move. how to free up the Governor? I hope I won't have to pull the timing cover off the front of the engine. looks like a huge job.

re inspected & somebody hooked the tie rod from the Governor to a pivot post for a lever instead of the pin for the rock shaft. Im not saying any names !! fired it up, ran great, no more running wide open.. running on 2 cylinders. now no fuel coming out of the port of the pump for # 3 cylinder. pulled the pump again and getting ready to inspect # 3 port on the pump.
