Introducing... The Delta Hook Rapid Hitch System

I thought I should alsoposta comment on the Delta Hook system. I bought my first one more than 10 years ago, and use them on virtally every implement that I have on 3 different tractors. It has made the use of my Bushhog with three different tractors very easy. I use receivers with a finish mower, a dirt scoop, a rear blade, and a drag. I can change between these implements in just a few moments, and most of them without exiting the tractor.

About 3 years ago, I was skidding a very large (too large) log wth my old Ford 2000 tractor. I had the log attached to the Delta Hook plate instead of to the draw bar (I have learned my lesson) and was moving the log up a hill when the tractor suddenly began to roll backwards. I jumped off of the tractor very quickly, but really before I had the chance to exit, the tractor came to rest, standing on the Delta Hook. All 4 wheels were off of the ground, and the rear ones were still spinning. The entire weight of the tractor was suspended on the Delta Hook plate, connectd to the 3 point hitch. I simply reached up, turned off the tractor, and used a 4 wheeler to pull the front end of the tractor back down to the ground. This is a strong and safe product, and I give the company the highest marks for great customer service.

Anyone have pictures?
I will try and take some photos this afternoon when I get home from work showing the system on an L2800 Kubota. I have the receivers on a dirt scoop, a finish mower, and a box blade. Soon I will get another receiver to use on a subsoiler/middle buster combination I have. Before I got this I would find myself putting off little task that required an attachment not hooked up at the time. Nevermore. Just last week I used the box blade to tend a brush pile I was burning, drooped the box near the fire and went about moving dirt with the scoop. When I needed to tend the fire some more just drooped the scoop and got the box, all done in seconds. Best gadget made.

Here are a few shots I took this afternoon. If you would like to see anything else shoot me a PM.

Looks great, but doesn't it get expensive to buy receivers for 3-4-5 implements?

Well yes. I am not a salesman for Delta nor do I get a discount, I just had to make my mind up about the convenience and I went for it. I have about $18K or so worth of tractor and equipment so what was another $1K for a lifetime of convenience.

The kicker was my dear spouse of 40 years bought a yard full of furniture without me knowing until it was delivered. Well I had been debating between the Delta hitch and TNT for my L2800 and that did it. Got the Delta that day. However, in hindsight I should have gotten both at the same time as I am just now getting TNT and that costs me another shopping trip. Ain't life grand.

Sort of like staying out until midnight or 3AM, the butt chewing is the same so you might as well go for it.

I've had the same experience; I do lots of things that I would otherwise put off because it's so quick to change implements. The other thing I've noticed is that it doesn't matter if the tractor and implement aren't close to level to one another -- as long as I can back into it I can attach it.

I did my research and discovered that an imatch and autohitch for a MX6 rotary mower cost $700. I just have an imatch and it works great.

Looks like a nice system, but I suppose only for CAT-1 implements.

I have always wondered why CAT-1 connections are not the same consistant dimensions like CAT-2, CAT-3N, and CAT-3 are.

This would really solve CAT-1 dimension differences.

GE222,

We actually have a Category 2 size as well. It is based on the 32" wide spacing typical for Cat 2. The Category 1 is, of course, based on the 26" wide spacing.

Both sizes are adjustable as far as width is concerned.

It's too bad you have to consider spending this sort of money to correct the deficiencies of an implement connection system that should have died many decades ago! Of course agreeing on some new standard is never easy.
