Now that's the most sane thing I've heard regarding weight comparisons. You're exactly right. It's all gibberish, and everyone does a different method, confusing the guyers until they're not sure what they're getting. Real tests by prospective buyers are the only way to really know if a machine is going to work for him or her.

I lifted a pallet of redi mix it was 42-80lb bags 3,360lbs. I lifted it slightly off the bed of the trailer and backed up.upon lowering the pallet i couldn't lift it back up fortunately i didn't set it down and just lowered it to a safe moving height as the forks wouldn't raise. I edged the backhoe boom out a little for stability and moved the pallet 50yds to its resting place. that day i definitely maxed the lift out! now thats test spec. don't have a bad word about the l48 yet. haven't really heard one either. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If we could have a multi dealer demo. and do it like John Bud suggested , <font color="blue"> I say dump out 100 yards of 3-5" river rock and time how long it takes to spread it out to a uniform 5" depth. Then gather it back up and dump it back into dump trucks. Do that for both and you will KNOW which is the better loader! Specs smecks, we don't need no stinking specs!

What a heckuva event that could be. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If (when) my local dealer gets one, he also sells those orange ones. Doubt he'd let me have an on-site demo with all three at the same time though /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
