Is a Poly Drum legal for fuel?

We do'nt have much of a problem transporting them , the problem is the consul operator turning off the bowser when they see you filling a Poly container . Ive tried to explain that they are made from Polyethylene the same as the "Polyethylene" Jerry cans but to no avail . Ive also tried in vain to explain to them that Diesel is not classed as flamable so is OK to use Poly drums . In the end i gave up and bought some Poly Jerry cans .

More loony logic making off road more challenging to acquire.

I just got my first delivery of red fuel for my set up last Friday.
The fuel guy filled my plastic 30 gallon drum and put the rest of the 60 gallon I got in the 55 gallon steel drum and didn't say a word about the drums.
He did say that I had a nice set up.

BTW:
They have a 150 gallon Min Del. but they brought me 60 gallon
So don't give up on getting home delivery as soon as you hear 100,150 200 etc. Min. Del.

Don't have the exact rules but my employer is an end user and we sure as heck have a plethora of hoops to jump through transporting diesel for generators. We don't do it except in emergencies but the rules still apply.

By end user I meant an individual consumer. Since you are a business the rules are different. However there are even some exceptions for business that transport "materials or trade" that are not for resale.

BTW - the tank on my pickup is "poly".

The operator may have good intentions, but has the rules all wrong. However, since he controls the pumps I guess whatever his whims are equals the rules.

Your first complaint was you couldn't get them for free locally. Now you have at least one source. As you found out the drums are cheap which makes the shipping look expensive. How bad do you need a drum?
