I'll be interested on your comments regarding the dual grapple 48. I can see that they basically just doubled up on the normal width upper arm. Might be a benefit in dealing with small material like sticks or firewood but I cannot see how it would help with trees, logs or rocks. Looks good though.

Those look the same as my ,illonzi. They are not grease fittings on the Millonzi and I wondered if it would be a problem but after six years they are still fine.

IslandTractor,
after six years I would say that you got a lot for your money. I have about six or seven acres of brush and junk wood like in the pictures I posted that I would like to clear. I like the Gator I bought and I think that I have a tool to do all of this and much more. I bought what I bought mostly on the advice from some of your posts. Thanks for that.
Three months ago I had never heard let alone seen a grapple. I had considered hireing, even buying a dozer to clear this stuff. (read OCD) If I had seen six different grapples together, would I have bought Gator. Maybe, maybe not. All I know is I am d*mn satisfied with what I have and can not get over how well it works.

Island's Grapple Laws:
1) Grapples are great
2) Any grapple is better than no grapple (includes bucket grapples)
3) Light duty 48" grapples can do 110% of what bigger heavier grapples can accomplish.
4) grapple manufacturers and dealers almost invariably over sell on grapple size for CUTs
5) rear remotes work just fine to control grapples. Diverters and electric over hydraulic valves are nice but not necessary.
6) Everybody loves whatever grapple they purchase but owners of light duty cheaper grapples have more money to spend on other implements or beer.

Keep this list handy; you'll be able to re-post it every couple of months!

Island, you forgot #7: Everybody likes to talk about their grapples.

IT,

Driving by? I got a call from my son on my cell last week.

"Dad, there's someone in the garage looking at the tractor and grapple."
"Who is it?"
"Don't know his name but I've seen him before. Says he'll just be a minute"
"Did I forget to close the garage door?"
"No, their closed."
"Okay, make sure he doesn't take anything."
"I'm on it."

Gotta love small towns.

Thanks for the "how to post" info, Island. I had to figure out how to re-size, too. I think I have it down now. Here are the photos of my 48" WildKat double arm grapple.

I haven't been able to REALLY put it to work yet, since I just ordered a tandem dually gooseneck to transport the equipment to the farm. I'll begin work there after deer season.

Very interested in these but would be looking for a lighter set...wondering how well the 2 arms with unbalanced force (cylinder on the inside of arm instead of center or one arm with cylinders on either end or two arms with a cylinder on both ends) will work with uneven load that could potentially cause a twist...seems like a big difference between the inner "tooth" and outer "tooth" could be achieved with the cylinder only on the inner tooth.

I agree. I'd prefer a single cylinder single arm myself but dual cylinder single arm would work too just as with a clamshell. Am interested to hear Missouri's experience though.
