Based on the recommendation of Island and others, I recently took delivery on a 48" Wildkat grapple http://http://www.ebay.com/itm/48-MINI-ECONO-GRAPPLE-SKIDSTEER-ATTACHMENT-QUICK-ATTACH-/260861339481?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cbc8c2759#ht_1902wt_796 with which I am quite pleased. The Wildkat weighs about 450 pounds and looks to me to be more similar to Island's Millonzi than the Gator.

Nice folks at Wildkat, good service.

Any updates on how this grapple is doing for you? I was leaning toward the Gator but ths looks like a good alternative and is cheaper.
Thanks

As per message #20 above on this thread, I have yet to do anything substantial with it, since I haven't been able to take it to the farm. Around the house's five acres, I picked up and carried a 32' telephone pole just to see how it would do and no problem. I considered the Gator before I bought the WildKat, decided on the latter and would do so again.

It was a bonus that it came with two upper arms and perhaps was a prototype, since their web site now says the econo grapple is available with one or two.

I found them on eBay, but called them directly and ordered. If you're buying for a tractor, have 'em delete the flat end connectors for a $50 credit.

Interesting that their logo is "WildKat", but their eBay store name is "Wildcatattachment".

This is the kind of thing that would probably keep me from buying from a seller; since it seems bogus to me. But I guess since Missouri Pioneer used them, they must be OK.

I hadn't noticed the name difference, but likely has something to do with either copyright or that the name was taken already as far as the internet goes. Call 'em and ask 'em, I have nothing but good to say their product or their folks.

Also, I just noticed that wildkatattachments.com takes you to their site. I suspect that they, like many others, bought the alternate spelling names, too.

I see they are in NC and so am I so I'll check them out a bit first. Do you mind sharing how much shipping ran you?
Thanks

There are a couple of manufacturers in Denton, NC - and possibly it's the same company that "bought out" (?) Markham... I don't know. I've driven by there and they have plenty of stock out in the yard :drool::drool: Wish I had more time to browse ;)

Back in August I talked to a gentleman in Austin, Bob, that uses them as one of his suppliers for skidsteer attachments. He is still getting product from them although they are very backed up. He told me they recently lost their welder and are getting a new welder up to speed.

It seemed odd that they would have only a single welder on staff, but that is the story they passed on to Bob. He gets a load of new stuff every few weeks, so I guess they are all still alive and getting stuff done.
