Just a little trivia here. Who calls 'em grease zerks and who calls them grease zerts? And why?
When I was a little kid our relatives from Oklahoma visited. My Aunt said Richard will you go out to the car and get my bag out of the turtle? I had no idea what she was talking about........
I'm sure Wagtail can leave us all in the dust with his slang.
If he'd come visit I'd take him a ride in my old Jeep. We'd even peel out on the highway.
My grandfather called 'em Alemites, and I call them alemites.
Zerk sold out early, He doesn't deserve the fame.
So where did "Zert" come from?
Urban Dictionary: zert
One of the definitions of "zert" in the above dictionary:
zert
persian or farsi word for fart
"zert with the wind"
"fart with the wind"
I only ever heard them called 'grease nipples/fittings'. Zerk is a new one on me, heard first on TBN.
Yeah, I know. Same here. Seeing as the majority of TBN members are from the USA, it's somewhat of a colloquialism. (Pssst... don't get them started on what a biscuit is, they think it's a "cookie"; not a scone. :laughing![]()
I like nipple. I mean who doesn't like nipple?
