Bob -
I've read this thread with some interest and your Deere bashing has come full circle. In post #24 you wrote:
Simply put, a loader will (lift) a lot more weight 1 foot off the ground than it will lift 5 feet off the ground and it will lift more weight 5 feet off the ground than it will lift to full height. So Deere is just playing with numbers to confuse buyers. I suppose that some buyer like to be dilluded into believe they got more than they paid for.
Then, in post #37 you wrote the following regarding the shortcomings of the posted Deere spec pamphlet:
Off the top of my head, the other manufacturers that provide full specs typically include:
* Breakout force at the bucket lip AND bucket center AND/OR the 19.7"/500mm point?
* Lift capacity at the 19.7"/500mm point?
* Lift capacity at the above points at various heights (12", 59" and full lift).
* Bucket weight?
Points 1 and 4 are well taken. However point 2 is a listed spec in the brochure (the second one down, which tells me you didn't look closely, if at all, before posting your above criticisms). Point 3 cites the same specs you were criticising Deere in post 24 for using as an attempt to mislead the buyer. I certainly respect your knowledge and your right to cite fault where you see it, but you can't have it both ways.
