When given a choice of more than 1 like or same product Samsung is our go to preference...

...only wish they made CUT's and garden tractors.

Did you read the article at the beginning of the thread. Your go to company bribes government officials rips of patents and thumbs there noses while doing so. They also falsify information on their products as well such as the benchmarks on their phones. My dad has a patent on a product and a bigger company not only copied his invention they used his trade mark in their add. He has contacted many patent lawyers when he first heard about this. The response from all of them. It will be held up in court for the life of the patent they will bleed you dry of all your money fighting it in court until you can't fight back anymore. You won't loose the case because they clearly and blatantly copied it but they can appeal and fight until you're broke. So yeah when I see a company ran like that I have a very big issue with them.

I have no idea whether you are right or wrong, but Best Buy still shows plasma TVs by Samsung, Panasonic, and LG.

I think youre seeing stock made with old screens. AFAIK there was only a few plants that made the screens themselves and theyve all closed or are in the process of closing.

Plasma is on its way out, LCD is current technology. OLED will be the technology that replaces Plasma in the next generation of screens for the best picture quality. OLED is available now, but crazy expensive for anything "TV" sized. 5-10 yrs and it will be commonplace.

Research showed that Samsung and LG are still producing and selling plasma TV's. Panasonc will stop production in 03-2014.

Plasma out performs LCD in every respect and remains the top technology for picture quality, it's not even close. HS.

I agree with you I have one employee that has a Samsung Note 2. (I let him choose his phone) That will be the last Samsung product I buy. I try to buy from companies headquartered in the US as well but even more so I try not to support companies with such a shady way of doing business.

While you specifically mention say "I try not to support companies with such a shady way of doing business", this thread (in general) seems to be going down the road of "US companies good, others bad". The other company involved in that case, Apple, is a US company, but is hardly a beacon of light... These news stories span across 4 or 5 years, so this wasn't about an isolated incident.

Read my post further down I do say that I try to buy US as long as I like their product and agree with how they do business.

Yea, I mentioned in my post that you said you also factored in the "shadiness" of the business, but other replies to your post seemed to be "its U.S. so it must be good". I'm all for doing business with US companies, but they can be criminals too (as you said, but others posters didnt seem to). They have to earn my business.
