Plasma out performs LCD in every respect and remains the top technology for picture quality, it's not even close. HS.

People used to say the same thing about Beta vs. VHS. The better technology doesn't necessarily guarantee success. Plasma is, or was the best for watching sports, especially hockey. If you compared a puck being shot, on a plasma, with its effective 600 Hz refresh, it stayed sharp and in focus. On an LCD/LED, even a 240 Hz TV, the puck fuzzed out. Plasmas used 3 times the energy though.

The only thing Samsung I own is a Galaxy Tab 3. I'll avoid their TVs and appliances. Your smartphones and tablets are already OLED screens so as you marvel at the image quality of your smartphone screen, just imagine that as a full size TV. That is true LED where instead of LED used as edge-lit backlighting as in my 70" Sharp Quattron, on an OLED, each pixel generates its own light via an LED.

I absolutely agree. My friend (yes, I have one!) has a 60" Panasonic plasma. Awesome picture. He's a hockey nut - rabid Flyers fan. His TV is the best I've seen for watching hockey.

I have a samsung plasma, everyone who walks in asks about the picture, it's jaw dropping in 1080p. Can't wait for 4k plasma. HS
