Plasma out performs LCD in every respect and remains the top technology for picture quality, it's not even close. HS.
People used to say the same thing about Beta vs. VHS. The better technology doesn't necessarily guarantee success. Plasma is, or was the best for watching sports, especially hockey. If you compared a puck being shot, on a plasma, with its effective 600 Hz refresh, it stayed sharp and in focus. On an LCD/LED, even a 240 Hz TV, the puck fuzzed out. Plasmas used 3 times the energy though.
