2002 New Holland TC40S
Maybe it's just me but refueling my 2002 TC40 is just a real PITA! With the filler neck 54" off the ground, climbing up on whichever implement is currently attached and jockeying around with a five gallon can of diesel is no walk in the park. I use the tractor primarily for mowing, splitting firewood and hauling tree trimmings to the burn pile-all this is seasonal work so thank God I don't have to "fill 'er up" often. Tried a ladder but no dice. Now I just partially fill the can(s) to decrease the weight and initial pour angle.
So basically I've just grumbled to myself through the refueling process until a friend recently bought a new Branson tractor with the fuel tank filler neck placed at the same height of the work deck! Makes that job as easy as refueling a riding mower...
Anyone have a better solution as in a nonelectrical pump or? I don't want to detach the implement and trying to keep the spillage/messiness factor to a minimum.

This really works great for me, cost me under 250 including a 10mic filter I cobbled on it holds 35 gallons painted it yellow with leftover CAT rattlecan. SO Much better than lifting cans and using funnels. No more spilling and getting a workout before actual work. I also add a little biocide every time I fill it.

12V submersible diesel fuel/water pump with leads clipped on to your tractor battery.
1-1/2" dia. pump drops inside the 5 gal can fill spout.
Can sits on bldg. floor.
Will pump 5 gal. can dry in under 2 min.
$21.99 on E-Bay.

Not cheap, but this is what i use. It’s plastic so no rust. Pumps 10 GPM. HOLDS 55 gallons of diesel.

Looks nice, but for less than ten 5 gal. (yellow plastic) containers each season for me, the $22.99 E-Bay 12v submersible pump is absolutely perfect.

Well, ya get what you pay for. I go thru a lot of fuel usually, though not this year. No snow To speak of.

While a pump is much better, this is one time I like the new fuel cans with the spring loaded nozzle valves. The hook rests on the filler lip so I dont have to hold it. Still gotta get it up there first though..

I just set a 5 gal jug on top of the loader arm and use a shaker type siphon hose. Same method I use for my jeeps when I'm off road. Simple low tech solution.

this is what i use, expensive, but once you lift it, you don't hold anything other then the fill lever, mine is on the hood. terrible design as well on mine
