Is there a consensus on where the best deals can usually be found???

I've been looking at used tractors for a few months and am really close to pulling the trigger but the OCD in my wants to make sure I have looked everywhere. I have searched Fastline, TractorHouse, Ebay, and Craigslist. Am I missing somewhere obvious where people sell their tractors? I'm not set on one brand but have been looking at NH. Open to JD, MF, Kubota, Case. Thanks!
Randy

The antique tractor websites generally have classified ads with tractors for sale. Don't know if you're into old iron, but there's quite a bit of stuff out there.

I buy most of my old tractors for restoration locally (within 500 miles) off craigslist--5 purchases so far ranging from $1100 to $3600.

I find a lot of stuff I'd like searching eBay. It's my backup to CL since the stuff on eBAy generally is out of state and involves shipping hassle/cost. I did luck out last year and found a 2004 Isuzu NPR/EFI 8x14 ft stakebed truck on eBay that was for sale in the Sacramento area about 120 miles from my place. Test drove it and made the deal for $11K (seller was asking $13K)---6.0L GMC LQ-4 V-8 gasser, 4 speed auto, 49500 miles. Use it to haul my smaller parade tractors (3500 lb or so) to tractor club events. Love that tilt cab NPR-it's a classic :D.

Good luck on your tractor quest

250 gets me to Palmer/Wasilla.. (just past Anchorage)! 1,300 miles won't even get me to Whitehorse!

But, I do use eBay as a price "tool". See what stuff is bringing. And what's out there. Also richie brothers auctions and tractorhouse auction results.

Pull the trigger on the one you really want, enjoy it and don't look back.
I'm not much of a price shopper but when I see what I want I negotiate a reasonable price and buy it.
My wife on the other hand will drive 5 miles out of her way to save $.50 on a bag of sugar.

OK...so what did you buy?

I bought a NH TC35D 16LA FEL. Came with 18ft Hudson trailer, finish mower, grader box, bush hog, auger, and seed spreader. Picking it up Monday. Can't wait!

Check out craigzoom,it is craigs list but expands your search area.coobie

Too late this time but glad to know about that....its always a pain when I try to look elsewhere on CL.

Patience, patience, patience.

I shopped for a year before buying my CUT. Bought on Craigslist using searchtempest.com. That was a year ago and I still monitor the above site to see if my deal was still good. And I also found some good deals on attachments just because I was monitoring.

Well....3 friends, 2 trucks, 2 trailers, 10 hours, and we made the long haul to pick up the tractor and all the implements and drug it all home....pheeew! Glad that's over. I would have posted this yesterday but I rushed home from work and graded the road until I couldn't see what I was doing anymore! How did I ever live without this tractor?
