I understand what you are stating. You are a pro-safe type gun owner. So am I, but not all my weapons are in the safe either. I need some handy. Although, locking your doors should be enough to secure the contents of your home. Too bad criminals don't agree. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I have also seen where the entire safe has been stolen too. So, I have mixed emotions about whether a safe works against burglars. I think they do, but for the determined crook, it may not be so.

( Your car analogy is over the top. It might be valid if he laid them out in his front yard. Having them in the house is not the equivalent of ( keys in the ignition, doors unlocked and engine running.) )

I was going to say the EXACT same thing.... "Sorry to hear your guns were stolen out of your yard Bama" /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Anyway, I know how you feel Rob, I had a break in when I lived in the city (but of course it can happen anywhere) and lost some prized possesions. I've never felt so... violated I guess is the word. The d*** criminal(s) were in my house!!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif They even pushed my Rott out into the garage after they came up the cellar steps and I guess saw him looking at them. I made bars for the cellar windows after that because it made me feel better and even got a security system, but there's nothing you can do.....

Oh, and if you get that safe.... make sure to keep your steak knives in there, too. Don't want them used in a potential future crime. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

hope you have them all recorded on tape with SN's and proof of what you had. even then it is hard to get $ from insurance.

I would like to chime in here with my opinion as well. I agree with Wayne. Someone who breaks and enters has already committed a crime. If my house is robbed and i am not home, I will report to the proper authorities, all missing items including serial numbers of my firearms. In doing that I clear my consience. This is America, and may God help whoever it is that might try to enter my home with me or my family at home. Next to the last thing I want is to harm anyone. The last thing I want is to allow someone to harm me or my family. My weapons are accessible to everyone in my home who is old enough and properly trained to use them.Would it make any difference if the thief took your kitchen knives and stabbed someone? As I said, this is America and this is my opinion.

Got a quote on an L5030 with FEL, BH and bush hog today.

My guns are worth more than that tractor money wise.

Hey, if your stuff is crap, let somone steel it.

You don't want somthing stolen, LOCK IT UP.

You have somthing expensive and don't want it stolen, LOCK IT UP.

Guess what, I've found that you can actually put other things than just guns in a "gun safe" /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

People steel, its a fact of life, you do have scum.

You don't want somthing stolen, LOCK IT UP.

Hows that /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
