My dealer will by doing my B2620 TnT installation for me, and said I could provide the cyclinders and valve assembly if I did not want to go with the standard Gearmore setup. He'll provide all other parts, including hoses and mounting bracket (same as the one used by Gearmore), and do the installation.

I want to use a Prince SV valve, and want to make sure I'm ordering the right one. Here's what I think I need:

3 SPOOL PRINCE SV VALVE (SV-3-X-BBB)
Surplus Center Item Detail

I'll probably just have them cap the 3rd spool for now since I don't have a need for it. Is there anything else I should consider? Are there other parts I should be providing myself rather than leaving it up to the dealer. My main goal here is just to able to use cylinders from CCM and the prince valve, not to buy as much as possible myself to save a few $$. I don't want to go tracking down miscellanous parts that my dealer can supply unless there is some advantage to using them.

thanks,

Chris

Ooops. Thought I had the right part, but now I don't. I need Power Beyond, right? In that case it would be 9SV-3-Y-BBB. Although this isn't an official part from Surplus Center, I think it is how I want it configured according to this page:

I was looking at this valve to give me 3 circuits. The nice thing about this one is its relatively small size.

Did you figure out what it would cost to build the stack set you were looking at?

It would be $237.50. The advantage is that is is stackable, so you can easily replace faulty parts, and you can add additional or different spools in the future.

Yours does not have power beyond. This may make it more difficult to integrate into your tractors hydraulics. However, every tractor is different, and maybe you don't need power beyond. I assume I do, but am waiting for my dealer to confirm.

Yours has smaller work ports. I'm not sure if this is an advantage or disadvantage. As for the overall size, I can see small size being a good thing, but yours almost seems to small, with the levers being very close together.

I'm leaning towards the Prince SV since it seems the many on TBN are using is successfully with their TnT setup.

Seapea- You are right about the power beyond (or at least sort of .... I will have to buy the power beyond sleeve for it - $23)

I could not think of a good place to mount the valve. If you put it where it is convenient to hook up to the quick connects, you cannot reach the handles. If you put it where you can easily reach the handles, then the it is not as easy to reach the couplers and it blocks other things.

My plan is to mount it so it is easy to hook up the quick connects and run 3' rods up to the canopy (I am ditching my ROPS and building FOPS) so the handles will be above and to the right of my head.

We'll see how things work out.

The Gearmore setup has a rear remotes plate with quick connects that is separate from the valve assembly. This allows you to slide the valve bracket along a post that sticks out from the ROPS over the fender, while your rear remotes remain conveniently located in the rear where they belong.

Yes that Prince SV valve should work just fine. I just finished installing that same setup - 4 spools - on my L3400.

Here is how I mounted it (bracket design shamelessly stolen from StrangeRanger) on the ROPS. I like this setup quite a bit. The handles are very accessible, the view is unobstructed and the QDs are easily accessible from the rear. Note that it is very useful to have the remote handles in such a location that you are able to adjust the top link length standing behind the tractor changing implements.

I have to say I was a bit surprised at the size of the Prince SV valve. It is nice that it is stackable however.

Why not go with the setup your dealer normally does? I'm guessing your machine is smaller in size than mine. I would probably want a valve with a smaller footprint on your tractor. Do you really need the 12 GPM flow this can handle? It is almost 100% more than what my tractor puts out so I would doubt it.

Remotes are fairly standard. All you need is a remote that is open center and meant for double acting cylinders that can handle the GPM that your tractor's hydraulic pump puts out and your CCM cylinders will work just fine with it.

For more info on my installation (just put the cylinders on today - yay!) see this thread.

Forgot to post pictures of my mount.

The main reason for going with the Prince valve rather than the standard Gearmore is that it is stackable, so I can expand it if needed, or replace fautly spools easily. Also, the price difference between a 2-spool and 3-spool setup is $300, and I did not think it was worth paying that much extra for the 3rd spool that I'm not even certain I will ever use.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the dealer on how much they will charge to install the TnT setup given that I will supply the valve and cyclinders. I might still go with the Gearmore valve since it is smaller, and the mounting bracket is a nice box that hides everything. The dealer said with the Prince valve they will have to custom build a mounting bracket given that stackable valves are always bigger.

Whatever you decide to do, GET the third spool. You will eventually find a use for it even if you don't see one now.
