You folks in the east and midwest seem to get the storms, but not the usual rainfall. In Texas around the DFW area, all lake levels have recovered and some lakes are above average. My property is very wet in the low areas, but dry in the high areas because the last few rains have missed us. Overall, this has been a very wet winter and seems to be continuing that way into the spring. We really need a good year after last year's drought, but most everyone has seen the news of how our tornado activity and hail storms have peaked lately. That's sure not good.:(

You Texan's sure had a rough ride last year in terms of weather. Let's hope it is better this time around.

We are still wet in the deep south. Just now being able to run hay equipment without bogging. Bottomland tillage is a mess.

You can have some of ours; 10" of rain last month, 34" since October. We need to start drying out.

It's dry here, also. They"re talking about the water level for the annual canoe race later this month, and how there will be more portages than normal.

In a surefire attempt to make it rain though, I took this week off to do some work around my house and gardens. Sure enough it's been showering all week;not enough to bring up the water levels, but a little is better than nothing. It isn't supposed to clear until Friday.

Central Minnesota. Moderate drought but a wet month would take care of it.

Dry here also except north side where sun and wind seldom reach.
City even lifted road weight limits...never this early I can recall.

Reporting from Colorado:
Snowpack (which is where most of our annual water is "stored") is somewhere around 65% of normal... way low. March & April are usually our wettest months. March had almost no measurable precipitation - broke a record. April is 1/3 over, and no precip yet either.

Nasty forest fire SW of Denver about 10 days ago...two people didn't make it out. :( Fire bans.

Please send rain. :(

Wet on the Texas, Oklahoma border. Been trying to cut Ryegrass and it's so wet. Expecting rain for the next week or so. We cut some a week ago and baled it. Stick your hand inside it's hot! We knew it was too wet but better than rotting in the field. We will dump it some washed out areas to stop erosion.

Tilled our vegetable garden and a small plot for squash, pumpkins & melons this weekend. The vegetable garden is out in the middle of a small field with sandy loam and was the consistency of cake flour. I'm still blowing the soil out of my nose. We will be installing drip irrigation, so I guess I can be grateful for less weeds?

The other plot has a high clay content and is shaded by lots of surrounding trees - it was just about the right moisture for tilling. This is the first April that I could walk onit without sinking up to my ankles since we moved here in 2007.

I don't think we ever had a Spring flood from the VT/NH/MA snow pack melting this year. If we did, it was piddling. Hope this means a reduced skeeter season!

Most of Texas is still in a moderate to severe drought, depending on what holds true for this summer it could be bad here again. Our particular area is over for the year, a small section of N central Texas into SE Oklahoma has had a wet year so far.

Seems like you guys in the NE where getting floods last Spring and now the dry out. From what I have heard the meteorologist saying, it is the unusual course of the Jet Stream lately effecting almost the entire nation to some degree.
