Finally, after almost exactly 3 months, my new toy has arrived! (and NO, I won't apologize for calling it a toy! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

We live on a sharp curve in the road with poor visibility, and it is a bit tight to get a long trailer into our driveway, so we unloaded a little ways down the road.

Well, that's all for now. I didn't really do anything with it yet, but watch for more pictures in the near future. I am going to spend the rest of the weekend working on the rear blade I am building. Of course I will be taking step-by-step pictures and if all goes well, you'll see them in a few days.

Thanks guys. It might get a little filthed up today - going to see how the landscape rake works for breaking up and spreading out horse manure in the field. I figure spun around backwards it should break up the manure without digging up the ground too much.

Real nice looking machine Brad! Looks very beefy. Did you pick up anything other than the landscape rake and FEL? Plans for other attachments?

I didn't pick up anything else with the tractor, but I do have plans to build lots of attachments myself over time. The first is a rear blade - I already have the blade itself and need to build the frame/3pt mount for it.

Other plans are:
-more hydraulics
-grapple
-forks
-shrub bucket (~2ft long, narrow scoop for digging out small trees & shrubs)
-extra lighting
-maybe a person lift

All this will happen slowly as I can afford the material (steel isn't cheap!) and as I get time. At least I have all the tools to do it with - MIG, TIG, plasma cutter,oxy-acet. torch, cutoff saw, milling machine, lathe, etc. Naturally each project will be accompanied by lots of pictures for TBN!

megotatractor: Yup, bugs on the ROPS. This 990 is smokin' fast in high gear!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Actually they are from the trip from the dealer to my place on the trailer. Hadn't wiped them off yet when I took the pics.

Played with it a little today. Used the landscape rake to smooth out a bit of the yard and toyed with the loader just a bit. Mostly just familiarizing myself with everything and getting used to the feel of it. Sure is different than my 9N!

I took the loader off to play with the rake and when I put it back on, just as the rear masts settled into place there was this horrendous, loud BANG! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Almost soiled myself /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Luckily it was just one of the masts that had gotten a bit hung up on the little metal tab on the back of the left support post and slipped down into place once some weight was on it. No harm done.

With a little luck I'll get some work done on my rear blade tomorrow ....
