Good morning,

Even though I parked the new CK20 in the garage I just went out and clamped a magnetic oil pan heater to warm that oil up a little. You know how it is with us heavy equipment operator's, we demand that our new equipment get preferential treatment as it's only right to treat oour equipment accordingly. Actually, it's zero out and the winds are howling and thank God for the ck20 in my garage. We removed the backhoe for the rest of the Winter last night I replaced it with the new 60" rear gunner Meteor Snowbower. It's going to be busy today pitching that fresh 8" of snow out of my driveway.

Unfortunately davy it got a bath on the ride up and i guess i can't expect the poor dealer to deliver it in darn near a blizzard driving through a snowbelt all the way from his dealership 230 miles away. After I got the CK in doors and it started to dry the salt wash from the road was present. No problem I just hosed it off. The dealer felt bad about it but I just assured him Iwas glad he got the thing to me in such weather and it is needed today. I'm sure the wind driven snow will clean it up even further.

<<Very Nice! It looks way too clean, time to go play in the dirt.

One thing I immediatley notice about the backhoe that you may want to consider is the feet on the stabilizers. >>

I will have a hard time getting it too dirty today DMace with all that wind driven snow but I will give it a try. Thanks for the tip on those stabalizer feet and I will look into that. I wonder what a set costs?

(IXLR8) << Hopefully you will have some pics of your little beast in action tomorrow.>>

Jim, I will have my wife take a few action shots of me throwing snow today. Here'sa few shots from yesterday idid not send up last night.

Congratulations Rimshot, I know you will enjoy your new tractor. I have had mine for little over a month and have enjoyed every minute. Don't really miss having all that snow on the ground, but sure enjoy the pictures. Work it hard, it can handle it. You will be suprised.

Good for you, Rim. I read posts about member's tractor parts rusting, my first thought, always, is "did they wash it when they got it". Hauling a piece of equipment, summer or winter, exposes it to contaminants it won't find running around your back yard.

Again, beautiful tractor, Glad to hear you located a HEOL :)

Good morning Rimshot,
Congratulations on your new tractor! We only got about 4" of snow late yesterday here in NH, but I can appreciate having how having your tractor all set up to deal with your snow must feel. Looks like your garage is heated, so you may want to back the tractor out, and let it warm up outside. ( the snow won't stick to things as much.) Enjoy! You have a great looking set up there! Thanks for getting the pictures up so quickly.

Here's a picture of todays action as I waded and gave 8" fresh inches of Michigan blizzard driven snow a one way ticket out of my driveway with that rear blower. Winds were still 20-30mph and it's only 4* (-20* chill factor)but the Kiote and I kicked some serious butt. Oh, btw, the picture depicts me with a giant head. It's not really all me. I'm wearing a snowmobile helmet with face shield. Why, you say? Because I don't know squat about blowing snow in a blizzard but am learning fast. One or two faces full of the white stuff at 4* in a 30 m.p.h. blizzard makes it's mark in the text book fast. Thanks to davi, chuck and Gilbert for checking in.

I think I got my CK20 in the nick of time. I have three people so far seeking my services. Yesterday, one day after I took delivery of my new Kioti, We get hit with a major whiteout type of blizzard. Visibility was so bad that they closed the Mackinac Bridge and US-2. Houses on the shores of lake Michigan are particularly snowbound and have been inundated with giant snow drifts. The L.P. gas company told one guy he has to get an access provided to him before they will deliver much needed LP gas to his house because the snow drifts have made servicing his needs inaccessible. A pickup truck with a blade can't touch it. looks like it's up to me and the FEL and blower equipped CK to get him opened up. I'm jumping in this thing feet first. I hope these guys did not leave any concrete blocks in the way of my 60" Meteor snowblower. Right now, I don't even have any spare shear pins for that thing and nobody in town can even spell Kioti or Meteor blower shear pins let alone supply this stuff.

I better get to going. This CK is in for a fight this week to gain back some terittory the snow has claimed. It's a dirty job but someone has to do it. I'm only showing 6 hours on the meter so far. I have to keep the rpm,s to about 3/4 throttle on the ck20 to break it in according to the book.

Sounds fun. Don't feed that new machine any frozen kitties :D

Seriously though, go slow with that snowblower, nobody pays extra for heroes. I would start out with the FEL and use the blower once you're familiar with the territory. (I used to run a snowblower on a snow removal crew back in the olden days  Amazing the things you hit)

Just my .02
