Sounds fun. Don't feed that new machine any frozen kitties :D

Seriously though, go slow with that snowblower, nobody pays extra for heroes. I would start out with the FEL and use the blower once you're familiar with the territory. (I used to run a snowblower on a snow removal crew back in the olden days  Amazing the things you hit)

Well said davitk and i plan to do just that. You can clear your own drive for years without shearing a pin and then do the neighbors just once and he forgets to tell you, "Oh yeah! I pile my re rod in the middle of the drive but forgot to tell you"

I have three people so far seeking my services.
Looks like it's up to me and the FEL and blower equipped CK to get him opened up.
I'm jumping in this thing feet first.

Better make sure you have valid effective insurance covering both liability and property damage before you jump into any of this.
Insurance coverage stops at your property line with most home owner polices once your tractor crosses it.
One mishap without the proper protection could cost you dearly.

Here's a picture of me and the CK20 reclaiming a driveway from a Lake Michigan Snowdrift left by Sunday's blizzard. Oh, and yes, those are electrical wires reachable from the top of this drift. This drift was windpacked and as hard as a rock.

Hey Rim, that Kioti looks like the perfect match for you, the BX would've been way too small....

Hi there davitK and giddyup.

I now have 13 hours in the seat of that nice CK-20 and that thing just amazes me. I'm starting to feel like this thing is just another handy body appendage like my right arm is. And I just can't believe how manueverable this thing is. it will literally turn on a dime. I go along next to that hard old drift and punch down through the bank with the FEL Bucket. But it would absolutely take me forever to bucket that snow out with the FEL. now however, the blower goes to work in that frozen stuff, grinding and relocating snow. Makes quick work out of a side of snowdrift. The combination of CK20 and FEL topped off with a rear blower and I got snow crying uncle no matter which way out I'm rolling forward or reverse.

Do you guys happen to know about initial oil change. I don't see anything in the book on breakin regarding an early change other the regular 50 hour thing I will be doing myself.

I think the 50 hour change is pretty standard. You want to leave that "break-in" oil in the tractor for the 50 hours, don't change it early. It has a job to do.

13 hours already? Yikes.

Rimshot, looks like you are having plenty of fun, no, I mean work to get done. I'm impressed again with these small tractors. I don't miss any of that snow you guys are getting. Be careful and continue to play hard.

There have been times when I could have used a bit of extra traction with my new tractor. Let's say I'm in 4 WD trying to back up out a ditch and the drive side of the rear axle breaks lose and spins with no traction.

I have a foot pedal that supposedly locks the differential so that both wheels drive. My question is how to apply the differential lock pedal. Do you have to use the clutch while setting that or what? I don't dare step on it with my heal while one tire is spinning do I? The dealer did a good job explaining all this and I have looked it up in the manual but I was not clear on the procedure and could use some user experience here.

You can engage the differential lock without using the clutch. Manual recommends reducing RMPs before engaging and only apply it momentarily. I have used it many times. As soon as I get traction, I release it. Most times it releases immediately, some times it takes a few seconds (feels like a long time).
