I agree. I posted and attached this link a couple of pages back. Not sure what these people will charge you, but the nuisance trappers I have run into generally know what they are doing.

Polo,

I meant to reply the other day. I was just thinking about what guys like this might charge, and if they were really effective.

Re: I've gotta kill that @#$% Fox!!!

It's against the law to kill a fox here, day or night.

not exactly true.

self defense pre-empts that.

if I am someplace ( in florida ) I am legally allowed to be, and -anything/body- attacks me, I can use deadly force to defend myself (or another )from harm.

Thus if that pesky fox tries to attack me.. I can shoot it.

see.. easy.. and the law is on your side! :)

Nice place...

Sorry, but I am still picturing you as Bill Murray in fatigues, a jungle hat and that off center lower lip saying: " I smell varmint... "

I wish I was closer...but I am allergic to I95........

I know a back route with no I-95. You can come camp out any time sir.

I also have my old army BDU's (I wear the pants still for hunting season), I know the movie, and I can almost do the voice... My family might even say I can do the goofy look...

I wish I had the time to just lie in wait for this fox...

I wish I had a crew of buddies and we'd walk in search pattern and find the lair. I hit one with boyscout juice and a couple matched from my green MRE matchbook just the other day, but it was unused this season...

Just being one guy, surrounded by woods, I'm just not able to effectively cover all the routes... The wind is tricky here, it changes often but has a prevailing direction (south, southeast).

No big deal Mossflower, I wasn't sure whether you had seen it or not. Just thinking that you might end up cheaper in the long run to hire it done. Another option for you to consider.

Good luck:thumbsup:

Good advice. Mr. Fox does seem to have a pattern of coming in from the pond to pounce...

I do think Moss looks like Bill Murry at this point. :D:D:D

Fox & Coyote Removal and Control FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions About Wildlife Control Go to locations. There are several in your area. As long as you have chickens, that FOX will remain killing them because he has found an easy source of food. The problem will persist. If it were me, these are the steps that I would take. First, I would secure my chickens and then buy a chicken that your Family has no attachment to and place it in a Havahart trap. Then after capturing the CRITTER, I would get rid of my anger by shooting the BOOGER.

So, here are my pelt crawling thoughts: I can't remember, but do you have the remote teaser decoys that wobbles/wiggles around? If not get one, then I would get the girls to gather up a bunch of chicken feathers and glue them onto the decoy. Build a ground blind within your comfortable accurate range. Set the decoy out and the hard part...waiting while remaining alert. When Mr. Fox shows up, I bet he moves in very quickly and attacks. As soon as he figures out he has been decoyed, he ain't going to be hanging around, so you have to be sending lead. I really think a 12ga shotgun with #1 or 2 pellets is a better choice in this scenario than a scoped rifle. Because, it's going to happen fast and if you are not behind the scope and ready, you are gonna miss the action. #1 or 2 at 50 yards throws a pretty effective pattern and a semi auto with the plug removed gives you 4-5 chances to put him down. ........

Good plan....Instead of the shotgun.....
